Walk across your college campus, what do you see girls wearing? Probably a slight variation of the same thing. Yes, this is a stereotype and generalization; but, hey, it's pretty accurate. Ask any girl what the staples in her wardrobe are each season, and you'll basically get the same answer out of each girl.

Winter: UGGs, leggings, and over-sized sweatshirts.

Let's start with UGGs: the boots everyone claims are so ugly, yet still wear them all winter long. If we're being honest, they aren't the cutest shoes, but who cares? They keep your feet incredibly warm, can be paired with almost anything in the winter, and are perfect for tucking leggings into. That brings us to our next winter staple: leggings. To be clear, leggings are a staple for more than just the winter season. While they generally aren't very warm, they can substitute for pants on those days we don't feel like trying to fit into our jeans because we've eaten too much this winter. You know what else is great at hiding those few extra pounds you've put on? Over-sized sweatshirts. You can feel like you're wearing a blanket basically all day, without carrying a blanket around like a cape.

Spring: t-shirt dresses, floral anything, and booties.

T-shirt dresses are basically like leggings, but in dress form. They're comfy, cute, and casual. We can look like we're put together, even though that may be the farthest thing from the truth. You don't have to worry about finding an outfit that matches, just throw a t-shirt dress on, and you're ready to go. They can be dressed up or down, perfect for any occasion. We also try to make floral suitable for any occasion. It's finally warm again, and we can't wait for the flowers to be in full bloom, so we wear them instead. From flower crowns to floral blouses and skirts to floral print shoes, you can find just about anything to get your floral fix. Can you even function without the perfect pair of booties? They too go with everything and anything. You can wear them with your t-shirt dress, your floral everything, your jeans, etc. You can't go wrong with these. They give the illusion of looking like you care, while not killing your feet.

Summer: sandals, norts, and over-sized t-shirts.

From the pool to the beach, sandals are an absolute necessity. You get to show off your cute pedicure, while keeping your feet from sweating like crazy. If you look enough, you can even find the perfect pair of sandals that can go with any outfit. Sandals serve the same purpose as flip flops, yet look more put together. Whether they're Jack Rogers or Chacos, you can still wear them with your norts. What are norts, you ask? Nike shorts, but as a basic college girl, you must refer to them as norts. Not only are they incredibly comfy, but they come in any color or pattern you can imagine, so you never run out of options. You can look like you're going to go workout without ever entering a gym. To complete the ensemble, you need an over-sized t-shirt. This may be one that you purposely ordered to be too big, was given to you, or was stolen (by you) from your boyfriend's closet. Over-sized t-shirts help hide the fact that you didn't get that summer body that you wanted, any who is going to say no to that?

Fall: blanket scarves, vests, and riding boots.

Blanket scarves are similar to over-sized sweatshirts: they hid what you want them to hid, and they're comfy and cozy. You can wrap up in a blanket scarf and keep very warm, but still look cute. You can find a color or pattern to go with almost any outfit. A neutral color vest can also go with any outfit. It's substantial enough to keep you warm, without having to worry about toting around a jacket if you get too hot. You can pair them with casual dresses, t-shirts, sweatshirts, or a variety of blouses to look fashionable and stay warm. Last, but certainly not least: riding boots. A girl's fall wardrobe would not be complete without them. They are incredibly versatile; you can wear them with jeans, dresses, skirts, and even leggings. Whether you find your perfect pair in black, brown, chestnut, gray, or none of the above, you will wear them until you can't anymore, because what else would you wear all fall?

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
