After months of back and forth drama between Alex Cooper and Sofia Franklin, the hosts of Barstool's Call Her Daddy podcast, Cooper released an episode titled "The Funeral" on May 28. While some fans were worried about what Call Her Daddy would look like without the best friend duo, Alex proved that she is more than capable of carrying the show forward by herself.
Immediately, the episode and the podcast topped Apple's charts. Call Her Daddy tweeted, "The Daddy Gang [was] in full attendance this week. Quite the rowdy funeral. We love to see it." In the episode, Alex took time to recap the drama and tell listeners her plans for the show moving forward. She mentioned that although Barstool is not seeking a permanent replacement for Sofia, Alex will have guests come on the podcast to co-host certain episodes with her and some of those guests will even be fans and listeners of the show. Alex also noted that sex and relationship topics will always be at the forefront of the podcast, but she wants to start including more content about what's going on in her life, her emotions, and other real-world topics.
Alex gained a tremendous amount of support from fans after posting the episode, and even more so when she called out investors and big-name celebrities trying to buy out the podcast and adjust her contract with Barstool for their gain. Scooter Braun is one of the people trying to get a piece of the Call Her Daddy pie, and Alex called him out specifically: "First of all, why don't you start by giving Taylor Swift her music back?"
After a slew of profanities in traditional Alex Cooper style, she said, "We are not for sale."
So, daddy gang, it looks like our favorite podcast is in the best of hands and there are exciting things to come. If you are interested in submitting your story for a chance to be featured on the podcast, visit the Barstool Sports website for more information.
