Barney And Acting

I'm an actor. My life is made up of fictional stories and funny situations. I wrestle with complex human emotions and figure out how people feel in certain situations. It's a psychological class without having to be lectured. My dream is to one day be on Broadway doing plays, dramas and comedies, and eventually direct a production on the stage that is the St. James theatre. Television isn't for me though. I've seen too many youtube videos on people flipping out on set. My roommate recently stared in a short film and he said he enjoyed the experience. I, for one, am a stuttering idiot. My mom always tells me that my dad is and if you watch me in any interview or video I suck at it. I SUUUUCKKK. But let me tell you, becoming an actor takes more than just a pretty face and being able to not stutter. It's luck and sometimes fate.

Barney the Dinosaur is a good example of some of those stars who made it after that. Selena Gomez is a perfect example. Her career started with being on Barney. Dancing with a middle aged man in a sad purple suit to being the lead role in a Disney channel series called Wizards of Waverley Place to selling out stadiums with bad songs and catchy choruses. But the real point is, she made it. She's a role model and she doesn't have a scandal about her besides dating a child. And yes I mean Justin. No offense to him. It's just funny to go back to the 2000's and make fun of him. But let's think about it. How did she get to where she is? I think it was her parents pushing her to do what she does best. Dancing with pervey dinosaurs and doing a greys anotomy show of Harry Potter. But maybe that's how I'll make it. I'm 20 and my mom made me do my very first show. So who knows, maybe if Selena can make it from Barney to stadiums then maybe I can make it from Helen Hocker to St. James.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
