BarkBox: Is It Really Worth The Subscription?

Destruction - what all puppies are good for, right? Whether you're a new pup parent and just learning or a veteran pup parent who isn't surprised when a toy is torn up in .07327 seconds, I'm sure you've seen the ads for BarkBox. One question has crossed your mind every time - Is it really worth it?

I, too, was once this pup parent in your position thinking, "Twenty bucks a month for a whole year, and I don't even know if it's something that's worth it?"

I finally took the dive in getting a BarkBox subscription for my active and very destructive Siberian Husky puppy, Ellis, back in September. I'm talking I would bring home a new toy once a week, and he'd destroy it in a day or less. I was spending more than $20.00 a month on just toys anyways, so when a coupon for the first month for $1.00 popped up, I thought - let's do this!

I haven't paid for a month of BarkBox since.

One great pro of BarkBox is they reward you for inviting your friends to sign-up. Send your pals an e-mail with the invite or give them your invite link (mine can be found here), and they get their first month free and you get a free month. I've referred my Facebook friends, my boss, the teller at the bank, and talk it up to any and every dog-lover I know. You could essentially get your whole annual subscription for free if you play your cards right!

Another pro of BarkBox is that all of their treats are all-natural and made in the United States and Canada. Does your dog have allergies? No problem - every BarkBox is wheat, corn, and soy-free, and for those fur babies that are allergic to beef, chicken, and turkey, they have a box for you too!

Each month's box typically contains a combination of four to five treats, toys, and an occasional hygiene product. It's just as fun for us dog moms and dads to get the box and see the cute themes as well! Ellis has received his back-to-school box, Halloween, and Thanksgiving box, and I'm checking the status of his Christmas BarkBox on their app which should be here any day!

If your pup is as destructive as my little Ellis is, BarkBox has the option of a free upgrade to the Heavy Chewer box. These more durable toys should last a bit longer than the Basic Chewer box toys as they have reinforced stitching and are made of stronger materials. I just switched to this option and will get the upgrade in January, and I'm so excited!

If he tears through those toys just as fast, BarkBox has a Super Chewer upgrade that cost a little more per month, but I think would totally be worth it. These Super Chewer toys are even wolf-tested, AND if your dog is able to destroy one of these toys, BarkBox will send you another one for free!

I could go on-and-on about BarkBox and how pleased I am with my subscription. Not only do I not have to spend money on toys every week (although I spoil Ellis like no other, so occasionally I'll bring a new one home that he just has to have), but I get several "good for my pup" treats, that would cost me just as much for one bag as I'm getting for two or three. Not to mention, Ellis flips when I bring in that box every month.

If you're not already convinced, check out BarkBox's FAQ that answers any and every question. If you can't find the answer to your question, chat it up with one of their super-friendly team members here.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
