Barefoot Ski Ranch

If you're ever in Waco, stop by Barefoot Ski Ranch. You will be glad you did.

Barefoot Ski Ranch, known as "BSR," is a wake board cable park hidden in the back roads and country side of Waco, TX. What is a cable park you might ask? Well, it's a way to water ski and wake board without a boat! The skiers handle is pulled by an electric cable in either a clockwise or counterclockwise motion around a lake. It's a very economically way to ski. Most people don't have a boat to ski behind. It is cheaper than buying gas and the overall cost of a boat. Cable skiing is the next best thing, or the best thing? With times changing, more and more people are coming out to cable parks. It is boosting the sport of wake boarding to a whole new level.

BSR has a variety of costs. You choose between the amount of hours you plan on riding the park. Also, you add in the rental costs for a board, a life vest and a helmet. There is a two hour pass for $25. A four hour pass for $30. Then an all day pass for $40. The life vests and helmets range along the same lines as the hours but much cheaper costing between $6-8. The boards range from two hours to four costing around $24. If you have your own equipment, then bringing those are highly encouraged.

BSR not only has a cable park, but they also have a ton of other things to do! They have a massive outside hot tub with a TV, have cabins surrounding the cable lake that include bedrooms, kitchens and living rooms. It's basically a very unique hotel experience. You can stay and ski!

People from around the nation come and stay here for the cable park. They have several lakes beside the cable lake. One of the other lakes has a boat on it, so if you would like to ski behind a boat then you can choose that option! Last year, they also built a lazy river that wraps around the entire park. They have a beach area on the cable park lake for the people that just want to lay out and relax. They have a pavilion area for parties and events. One other attraction is the restaurant and bar that is looking over the cable lake. There is pool tables and an outside patio area with tables.

It's the perfect getaway because since it is in the country side of Waco, you don't feel like you are actually in Waco. It just has everything you could possibly want. If you haven't been there, please make your way down to Waco, TX and see it for yourself!!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
