The Draught House in downtown Youngstown will continue to host their games nights on Tuesday evenings.

Carly's been involved with the Draught House for four years, it began in the summer around mid June. It all began on one day when a group of people would come in with a group of cards called Cards Against Humanity and asked the bartenders if they could play. With permission, that group has been playing ever since.

The game nights consist of purchased dollar store games and even household games of various age groups and different varieties. The categories of games would range from the original Sorry, Connect Four, and Life

One of the most popular games at the Draught House is a go fish card game that tends to attract a good group of players each night from all ages.

The night begins just like any other normal night at the bar with drinks and food of every variety being served, then around six or seven the bartenders and other attendees will bring their own games to the game night. This isn’t a structured night, with set rules and logistics.

Along with the board and card games going on, the Draught House will also feature wings, and $3 draft specials along with shots for those who do or not engage in the festivities.

“Whether it’d be an award, like I got first place, or little mini coffee cups that people end up using as shot glasses,” Carly said. “Something fun and silly.”

Carly likes to think of this weekly game night as a way for business to grow and more people to get involved with others on Tuesdays when the house would normally slow.

The Draught House wanted to do something different then what the other bars would do on certain nights. Not only that, but Carly mentions how some of the players become friends from being frequent attendees from the oddest of games.

“Wednesdays were just so mundane and we had such a blast the first time that happened it just snowballed from there,” Carly said.

After that one night, it started to grow from various people joining different tables and those people telling their friends. According to Carly there is one avid group that will choose their one table and relaxing while playing their favorite games along with drink some beers.

For those are new to the Draught House or game night and aren’t sure what’s going on, the bartender would come over to them explain what’s going on and then lead them to a table.

Each group is limited to game play by 20 minutes in order to make things fair for everyone who might be waiting for a certain game.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
