Stuck on why Ball State would be considered the best college in Indiana? Keep reading, I have three major reasons why...
1. The culture is alive and thriving.
There are so many little tidbits about Ball State that really make it feel like home. I always feel like all the students are always on the same page about everything. For example, if we tell our group to meet by the Naked Lady, we all know what means. Or if we see someone rubbing Frog Baby's nose, we know what the means as well. If it's around noon and someone suggests the Atrium for lunch, it's usually going to be a big NO. A lot of culture exists on this campus, and it's going to be a beautiful thing to see when I come back as an alumna one day and see the new students saying and doing the same things as us.
2. Having a smaller campus.
Before picking a school, I knew IU Bloomington had the most beautiful campus I have ever seen. I will give that to them to this day - IU is way more gorgeous of alumni than Ball State. But I still see beauty in Ball State's campus, and I also find it incredibly helpful that it takes me 10-15 minutes tops to get from one end of campus to another. With some of my family members and friends attending IU, I know that some of them spend an hour in walking time to get from one class to the other, and I'm just so glad I don't have to go through that. With a smaller campus, it's also easier to see friendly faces and keep in contact with everyone. I feel like I run into someone every day, and if there were more students in attendance, I can see that being way harder, which is no fun.
3. The support that everyone has for each other.
Sometimes, I like to joke about how being a Ball State student is its own personality trait. We have a very different college experience being from Ball State. Everyone seems incredibly supportive of each other, if there's suspicious behavior going on around campus, students spread the word and they do it quick. For example, there's been some strange stuff going on in these last few weeks, and I heard about it all over Twitter. It's nice to know that Ball State students have each other's backs.
