The Ball brothers LiAngelo and LaMelo are leaving Lithuania. Bothered by injuries, the brothers and BC Prienu Vytautas have agreed to part ways.
The two players are the younger brothers of Lonzo Ball of the Los Angeles Lakers. The team made a statement that LiAngelo has been bothered by an ankle injury. Lithuanian basketball writer Donatas Urbonas said on twitter LaMelo’s father, LaVar Ball was upset with the decreased amount of playing time he has been getting. With that, he has been struggling with back pain.
LiAngelo averaged 12.6 points and 21.2 minutes in 14 games. His younger brother and teammate LaMelo averaged 6.5 points and 12.4 minutes throughout eight games.
Back in December LiAngelo left UCLA after being suspended for shoplifting in China where the Bruins’ had traveled for a game against Georgia Tech. After becoming homeschooled, LaMelo left high school to turn pro with his brother.
LiAngelo has declared for the 2018 NBA draft. He did not get a combine invite. LaMelo will play for the JBA league founded by his father, LaVar. He is set to make his debut June 21. His team will travel to Texas to play a Houston-based team at the Citizens Business Bank Arena.
