Balancing Hobbies: Managing Family

Balancing yourself between family and everything else you have going on in your life is a tough subject to tackle. Your family is one of the most important things you have to balance in your mental compartment of prioritized necessities. The members of your family are something you cannot choose; they are something you are born into. Every single person you share a blood relation to will be important in your life whether you want them to or not. It is extremely hard growing up and everything that comes with that. You become your own person and you especially know what makes you who you are before you become the adult that you define yourself as.

Being in college classes is one case where you especially distance yourself from your family members. You become a new person, you start to understand the difference between high school adolescent version of you, and the newly discovered, knowledgeable version of yourself. Becoming your own person is a scary process, but it is a part of life that you cannot escape. You become independent; you learn what makes you important. You learn anything and everything that makes you an individual in this big bad world.

Anything you want to accomplish in this world is achievable, no matter who you are, no matter who you are trying to become. Anyone should have the freedom to explore the options they want to experience, no matter what background they come from. School, work, friends, hobbies, everything that is keeping you from being who you are is nothing but an obstacle in your way that you can easily overcome. You have to realize that out there in this huge world full of variety, there is an endless possibility of what you can and cannot become. The world is your oyster, as stupid as that sounds.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
