Everyone has personal battles they deal with. It's anxiety, body image, negative self-talk, OCD, ADD, etc. Everyone has something that they struggle with. In high school, I was friends with a lot of people from different groups but never had my own. I developed an eating disorder in high school because I had this certain way I wanted to look. I ate in private because I was super self-conscious of the food I ate and people I surrounded myself with.
There’s at least one part of a woman’s life where she starts to questions her body image. It's very dangerous to be negative to your body both physically and mentally. I started with running for strength and not for calories. I started participating in HIIT workouts( high-intensity interval training). Once you start changing your mentality with little things, you are able to gain strength both physically and mentally. I started wanted to gain strength and fuel my body with food for my workouts. I started lifting summer going into my freshman year of college. I found a trainer at my favorite gym near my home and started training for strength, instead of duration. This made me slow down and focus on how I feel rather than pushing myself and my body to a point of “ over- doing it”. Lifting weights healed my anxiety. I found strength in myself, and once you find that strength you feel unstoppable. “You are as strong as you let yourself be."
My spirituality has been the biggest help through the negativity. There will be days when you feel your absolute best and there are days when you feel worse. Focus on positivity, make attainable goals for yourself. Start making plans, and stop letting every day go by without it being pleasurable. Finding balance is the most important thing.
With my spirituality I have found healing stones that work best for me, there are certain chakras that I use to charge myself, Light the candles that you have been saving. You a worthy of all that serves you. Self-guided meditations have helped me heal and they are very powerful. I highly advise you to not listen to them while driving, but in the comfort of your own bed, where you can feel most relaxed. Do things that make you happy: take a bubble bath, do a hair or face mask. Make time to relax, I feel like I get my shit together when I spend time with myself. If you feel that you struggle with yourself, I advise you to get to know yourself.
