I am a San Diego native. One of the perks of living in San Diego (besides the weather of course) is the U.S.-Mexico border at Tijuana. The border is roughly 35 minutes away from San Diego, making it a very short drive to spend a day or a weekend in Mexico.
I frequently travel to Rosarito, Mexico which is only about 20 miles south of the U.S.-Mexico border. As a Pacific Coast city, Rosarito has very nice weather, thus making it a popular destination for tourists to spend time at its beaches.
Although the beaches are highly popular, Rosarito offers more than simply that, such as its vibrant pottery. When driving through Rosarito, there are an abundance of pottery and ceramic shops that one can explore.
On my last visit to Rosarito, I decided to visit the pottery shops to browse through the collections of pots, figurines, and animal motifs. The amount of detail and the combination of colors the pots and figurines displayed, simply amazed me.
I have compiled some photographs that I took to attempt to showcase the beauty of Baja California's colorful pottery. The variety of geometric shapes and animal motifs are truly works of art.
The rich colors are pleasing to the eye.
