In Wisconsin, there are few things agreed upon more than going out every Saturday and cheering on Wisconsin Badger football. The amount of pride and glory that goes into just one Badger gameday is unreal. It doesn't matter whether they are playing a top 10 team or an unranked team that they are predicted to beat by 30. The fans show up and pack legendary Camp Randall every Saturday. Lots of people will dress up and show off just how much of a die-hard Wisconsin Badger fan they are at heart. The number of alumni that show up and continue their support is unreal. The tradition is unmatched.
There are many tailgates that are thrown every Saturday that always differ in how good or how bad they are. However, very few times there are bad tailgates that go on. People will just go to a tailgate and catch that nice buzz before the game starts. Many times people will even not make it into the game until after it starts because some tailgates are just too fun.
Once you're in the game, that is when the real magic shows up. When you're in Camp Randall and surrounded by fellow Badger fans that are just electric with energy and passion. And then the band is just going crazy and playing all of the best the pump up songs and cheers. With every first down, the announcer says "First and 10 Wisconsin!" Then the Badger's score and the crowd goes crazy with excitement and people are jumping and screaming and Bucky Badger is doing push-ups while everyone counts. And then the chant going that "We want more beer!" starts up and all the drunk/buzzed students are screaming.
The tradition of the wave and the student section race on the jumbotron gets everyone riled up. Students every now and then the crowd will start up the chant of "Fuck you," "Eat shit." There is always the student section song that every student knows by heart and sings it out, "Build Me Up Buttercup" by The Foundations. Then comes the legendary Jump Around time where everyone in the stadium is quiet and then House of Pain's hit song "Jump Around" blares through the speaker and that's when literally the entire stadium moves because everyone is out of their seat jumping around.
Badger game days is the definition of classic college football tradition that will never die because the fans are always going to be dedicated to their Wisconsin Badger football team every fall.
