Bad Teacher

Everyone Has Had THAT Teacher That Just Makes You Ask... "Why?"

I truly will never understand educators who despise their job.

Qualities of a good teacher include: enjoying the material in which they are teaching, master their subject, dress the part, always have an inviting smile, interested in making a connection and forming a bond with the students, and consistently looking for new ways to teach the material more creatively.

The list goes on. So may I ask something, why become a teacher if you loath students and are bored with the subject you're teaching?

I don't think teachers like this realize that the impact they have in teaching us students is much greater then anyone could comprehend. Teachers form the young minds that eagerly sit at their desks waiting to learn and expand their minds.

(Alright in reality we all know most kids sit slumped in their desks with their head down because they barely got out of bed this morning)

Although it's not the teachers fault for having exhausted students who are disinterested, but it doesn't help if the teacher is even more disinterested.

I have a math teacher who completely disregards the subject matter in which he is teaching. Everyday is the same, practicing problems, listen to his complaints about what ruined his life today that was any different from yesterday, and his insulting criticism of the fact that the students in front of him don't know the simple information he is teaching.

Why go to college and practice teaching if you hate it? There are some teachers who constantly plan new and creative ways for their students to be excited to come to class, that's awesome. It may just be the newer teachers who are fresh out of college, but how could a love for something such as your profession just die?

If one loves something enough to make it their career and go everyday to it, why spend the extra effort in hating it? If the teacher doesn't like what he's teaching, why would the students?

I would love for a teacher who enjoys what they teach. I have another professor who absolutely loves his job. I know this because he doesn't just say it, but his actions, peppy attitude, excitement when students participate, and overall atmosphere in the classroom just exemplifies his love for the topic.

People should do what they love, not do what makes them money. (If you're choosing teaching as a means to just make money I would rethink your decision, not much money there folks unless you truly love it)

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
