Dogs are probably one of the best things to exist in this world, and I actually feel sorry for people who “aren’t dog people.”

The companionship a person gets from a dog is something that can’t be found anywhere else. Who else gets as excited as your dog when you walk through the door, even if you have only been gone for 20 minutes?

Whenever you have a bad day, it instantly gets better when you come home and your dog is excited to see you.

Recently I wanted to go for a hike, but I couldn’t find anyone to come with me. So I took my dog, and we had a great time. He helped to move me along and we both got good exercise out of it. Even though we can’t talk to each other, just having company there is all that really matters.

If dogs aren’t the best things on this planet, then why do they bring them to campus to help reduce stress around midterms and finals?

The school knows the amazing powers of the dog to make you feel better, even when you have 3 papers and 2 exams all in one week.

The worst thing is when a dog has to be put down. They are the most innocent animals and they deserve to live forever, and when they’re gone there’s an emptiness that can’t be filled.

Anyone who has been through that situation understands the feeling.

As much as they might drive us crazy sometimes, we would be no where without them. All the times our dog has run into the water at the park or at camp and gotten soaked is worth it (even though my mom gets mad every time). Whenever we come back and discover chewed up shoes and papers everywhere, there’s only so much time we can stay angry.

Dogs love us unconditionally and they are one of the best things in my life. I couldn’t imagine my life without them.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
