As a college student, I can truthfully say that there have been days where I felt like throwing the towel in. There are days where you just can't seem to catch a break and everything that could possibly go wrong happens. If I let one bad day affect my outlook on the rest of my life then I would have given up a long time ago. I try to be as optimistic as possible even when I just want to lay in bed all day with the lack of motivation I may have or I became tired of things not going my way. If life was easy, it wouldn't be as enjoyable to get what we want without it being a little bit of a challenge. It's much more satisfying to be able to achieve a dream or a goal when it was a rugged path to have to travel on because you persevered. No matter how difficult it may be, a bad day does not guarantee a bad life in store for you.
When I have a bad day, I like to think of the good days I have had that remind me why it's important to have faith during the times I feel like giving up. One of my favorite quotes will always be this: "Surround yourself with beautiful things and positive people." It is a constant reminder to me that if you keep your mind in a bright and happy place, those negativities that may come your way have no chance against your positivity. It may sound easier said than done, but if you really want to lead a path towards a better life, you have to keep yourself surrounded by people who love and support you no matter what happens. But don't get me wrong, sometimes you just need a little bit of alone time to gather your thoughts and to allow time for some needed self-care!
Now let's talk about what constitutes a bad day. Did you accidentally set your alarm for pm instead of am? Did you forget your assignment for one of your classes at home when you spent hours perfecting it the night before? Did you spill your coffee on yourself before you even got to take a single sip out of it? Everyone's idea of a bad day can be a culmination of little things or maybe one or two big things that put off our entire week. In the end, whatever happens throughout the course of a day does not define our success for the future. So many professional athletes, actors, and actresses, writers, etc. all started somewhere. At one point in their career someone may have doubted them but as long as you believe in yourself and put your best effort into the work you have a passion for, then you will live a truly fulfilled life.
