Back To School With The Help Of Some 'Friends'

For many of you, summer is the best time of the year. No school work and a lot of relaxation. Being home from the first year of college, I have many feelings on going back to school. Not only am I super excited, but also a little bit anxious. So, I thought what better way to tell it than with the "Friends" cast.

Super excited for what's to come within the next year. Excited to see your school friends that you've been away from for three months. Excited to get back to your home away from home.

Denial and sadness. Summer is over already?! Even though there are many excited feelings going on, there is a also denial that you have to go back to school. Back to reality...without your home friends or family or homecooked meals.

Anxious. As ready as you are to go back to school, there are also a lot of nerves that come with it. Another year away from family and friends on top of that all the stress of school work yet again. Getting ready for all nighters in the library!

Relived. It's about time! It feels like ages since I've been back on campus and I'm relived I get to start another chapter of college this year. Ready to meet new people and enjoy so many new experiences this year. Finally the time has come.

Ready to happily reunite with your school friends. After a long couple of months, getting ready to see all the faces you haven't seen in so long!

Ready to go out again. Excited to go out and have some fun with your friends just like last year all over again!

Ready to (try to) share food with your roommates, which doesn't always work out too well.

Ready to listen to your new professors who will engage you in learning and showing you all the knowledge you came to college looking to learn!

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
