September is approaching faster and faster, which means it's almost time for everyone to go back to school. Everyone dreads going back to school because that means all their summer fun is coming to an end and they have to go back to an endless routine of school then extracurricular activities then homework and no free time to speak of. While a new grade, a new teacher, and in a lot of cases, a new school can be challenging to navigate, especially during the first few weeks of school, there are ways to make it easier. Here are a few tips to follow for a successful school year.

1. Find a Day to Find Your Classes

It's super critical that you know where your classes are before you get started on that three-minute rush to them during the year. Finding a day to find all your classes and maybe meeting your teachers will make the travel time faster and easier during the first week of school. Not to mention the fact that your chances of being late to your classes will decrease drastically.

2. Take a Tour of the School

This piece is more for the people transitioning into middle school, high school, college, or even moving to a new school altogether. When you are moving to a new school, touring the school will make the transition a little bit easier on you. I understand that transitioning to a new school is extremely stressful, maybe more stressful than a new grade transition, but visiting the school or campus beforehand and taking a tour will help you get to know your school better.

3. Connect with Friends

One of my biggest memories from school was calling my friends and seeing what teachers or schedule they had once we got them. Finding friends in your classes will help ease the tension from transitioning to a new teacher since you will have a familiar face there. Even having your parents arrange a carpool throughout the year can ease that tension too.

4. Get Your Supplies Beforehand

This is obviously one of the most important tips for a successful school year. Without the proper school supplies, you will not be ready to do the work, and being unprepared shows an unsuccessful student. If you were given a list of supplies you need, use that list to find what you need so you will be prepared once the first day of school approaches.

5. Track Everything on Your Planner

When I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. Planners are one of the most important pieces of organizational tools anyone should carry with them, even after they are done with school. Your planner is not just for homework assignments, so make sure you also include test dates, project due dates, extracurricular activities, or any school event that will be happening that you will be involved in. This will help you get organized in a more efficient way and you will be more on top of your stuff.

6. Create a Distraction-Free Zone

Find a space in your house or dorm that you know will be quiet enough for you to focus on your homework or studies. Keeping the electronics away from you and making sure there aren't any frequent loud noises in your work space will help tremendously when doing schoolwork. If you have a hard time finding a place in your house or dorm, try going to the library, since it's a quiet place where everyone can focus on their work or readings.

7. Prepare Everything the Night Before

Your lunch, your outfit, and everything else should be prepared the night before. Make sure your homework is finished before you jump into bed and maybe create a checklist of things you need for school. This will make your morning routine much easier and less of a hassle since most of what you needed was done the night before.

The tension of going back to school is not going to be easy, but following these tips will make going back to school a little bit easier. As long as you stick with this advice and follow-through, the school year will be a success and you will be proud of everything you accomplished this year. Organizing yourself beforehand will make the school year easier.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
