Going back to school after the summer is bittersweet. On one hand you get to see all of your friends again, but on the other hand...classes, UGH. There is also a lot of packing, shopping and stressing involved. Some of the things you need to survive back to school can be bought, while others cannot.
1. Snacks
You need snacks when the dining hall is closed or you just want a quick bite to eat. They can save you from mid-day hunger during your classes.
2. Headphones
Walking around campus listening to music can be very enjoyable. Or if you do not feel like talking to anyone, just put on your headphones and hope no one bothers you.
3. Good friends
Nothing is better than spending the day surrounded by your friends. You can study together and go to different school functions together, or just hang out on the weekends watching movies.
4. Netflix
For the times when you do not have homework or classes, or you are just procrastinating, Netflix is there for you.
5. Chargers
Always carrying a charger with you is something a lot of people have realized will save them. I have sat in a class where someone has their phone plugged in and charging so they can use it after class.
6. Tylenol
School is stressful. There is no doubt about that. Tylenol or other headache relief medicines are there for you when you need them.
7. Wi-Fi
Because who can survive school without Wi-Fi?
8. Money
Getting a job or saving up your money from a summer job is very important. You will not always have time to work, but having extra money is always great.
9. Planner
Having a planner is essential to staying in control of what is going on with your classes and school events.
10. Laptop
Your laptop will be your best friend during school. You guys will spend a lot of late nights together whether you are watching Netflix or writing papers.
11. Tissues
When the days get rough and you just need to let out your emotions, you can have your tissues ready. Or during the nights you and your roommates stay up watching Nicholas Sparks movies.
12. School supplies
Of course, you are going back to school. It is not just about your social life and hanging out with your friends. It is the time to buckle down and maintain or get the grades you have been aiming for.
It is back to school time and classes are or have already started for some of us. Time to get serious about the upcoming year and focus on the goals you have set for yourself. Have fun, but also be sure to stay on top of everything. School is here and there is a lot of things you will need in order to survive, do not be lost without them.
