A Back-to-School Guide to Planners
Changes Approved

The new school year is upon us and you know what that means...planners. Planners are my absolute favorite back to school accessory. I love being able to write down everything I have going on in a day and every little thing I have to do that day. Nothing makes me feel like I have my life together quite like my planner does. I’m currently using an Erin Condren LifePlanner but I figured I’d offer some advice on the best planner for different lifestyles!

Target Academic Planner

The target academic planner is perfect for someone who hasn't had a planner before, likes to keep their planners simple, or doesn't need anything but something to write a few things each day in! This is probably perfect for high school students because it has a monthly spread at the beginning of each month and then each week spreads across two pages with a few lines to write on for each day! These planners also come in various patterns.

Price: $16.99

Size: 11" x 9.25"

Lilly Pulitzer Agenda

Lilly Pulitzer agendas are quite popular amongst teenage girls and I totally get why. They're fun! The bright colors and patterns make planning out your day an enjoyable thing. This agenda features the same set out as the planner listed above; a monthly spread and a few lines for each day and every 2 pages is a week. This planner does come with cute extras like an address book in the front, a travel plans page, and a page of super cute stickers.

Price: $30

Size: 6 3/4" x 8 7/8"

Erin Condren LifePlanner

The Erin Condren LifePlanner is just that, it's literally my life. I love this planner so much. The set up is clean and cute and it comes with lots of accessories that only make planning easier. My favorite thing about the planner is all of the personalization possibilities. You can pick your cover, which is a plastic laminate cover and you can put your name or initials on it. You can also pick the layout of your planner. Each page spread is a week but the set up is different. You can pick an hour by hour of each day, a set up where each day is broken into three sections, or a set up where each day has a few lines to write on. The beginning of each month has a monthly spread and a blank page before that to write motivational quotes for the month. The back of the planner has blank and grid pages for scrapbooking or doodling. This planner also comes with stickers, an address book, and a pouch full of cute inspirational quotes, bookmarks, and more stickers. I think this planner is great for someone who likes to organize their life hour by hour. It's definitely the planner for a busy person.

Price: $55

Size: 7.25" x 9.25"

DayDesigner

This planner is a dream. The day designer has large pages and so many cute options of cover designs to choose from. I just can't get enough. This planner comes with a page for each day and half of the page is an hour by hour planner of the day and the other half is a to do list for the day. This is a combination of the Erin Condren LifePlanner with all the other planners I've mentioned. This planner also comes with a front pocket cover, monthly spreads, and fun tear outs! You can also purchase just the inserts for the planner and put them in any binder you choose. This planner is for the super busy and super organized and I can't wait to get my hands on one of these once I've finished the planner I have now!

Price: $59

Size: 9" x 9.75"

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

Creating your schedule for the upcoming semester can be an exciting process. You have the control to decide if you want to have class two-days a week or five-days a week. You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
