Thanksgiving is over, everyone is back to school, and finals are looming on the horizon... Bit scary, isn't it? The way I look at it, at least I only have about two more weeks before the semester is over - those poor K-12 kids won't be done until much closer to Christmas!
Of course, they also have a higher chance of getting a snow day, but I digress.
Going back to college after a break is a mixed blessing. On the one hand, most of us are on our own again, and after most of a semester like that, being back with the parents can be a little frustrating after a couple of days. On the other, the food is almost always worse, and, ugh, morning classes.
I know, Clint, I hate the very idea of 'em too.
Not to mention those finals are coming up - 'affectionately' referred to as Hell Week, and with good reason. You might get lucky, though; plenty of teachers would rather just have you submit an essay electronically the day of, rather than getting up early themselves. I'm looking forward to only three in-person finals this year, and one has been promised to only last five minutes, in the form of a short chat with my ASL professor.
(It's an awesome class, by the way, I highly recommend it!)
But alas, with Thanksgiving break behind us and Christmas break shining like a beacon at the end of finals week, we must beat on, backs to the cold December wind, borne back ceaselessly by waves of revisions and abysmal quiz scores. Do not despair, fellow students, for freedom is only weeks away!
Of course, after that, the spring semester begins, but let's crawl across that bridge when we come to it.
