Winter break is a blessing. There is no doubt about that. After a semester we thought would never end, it's much needed time to unwind, and recover. But somewhere along the line, all hell breaks loose. One minute, I was relaxed and happy, and now I'm stressing out about my spring schedule. How did this happen? How did we get here? Let's rewind to where it all went wrong, as told by New Girl.
1. You get home, and everything is how it should be
FINALLY, it's time to binge on hours of Netflix, and sleep in until noon everyday.
2. But then a relative asks how your grades were this semester
I dropped from a 3.82 to a 2.82 all in one semester, but thanks for reminding me.
3. You feel like a guest in your home and it's just downright uncomfortable
My room is now a guest room, all my belongings are in boxes, and I'm living out of a suitcase. Home sweet home.
4. And your mom has the AUDACITY to ask you to do some remedial chore like the dishes, as if you ACTUALLY live there
Can't you ask one of your other kids?
5. After days of sleeping in, and not knowing what day it is, you look at a calendar and realize you have to go back to school soon
You like being home, but then again, has it REALLY been that great so far?
6. When your friends who go to school in your hometown complain about having to go back to school
You live at home, don't have to pay rent, and don't have hours of driving ahead of you, so sit down.
7. And you realize how a lot of them haven't matured since high school
You're always going to love your high school friends, but sometimes it's nice knowing you only have to see some of them for a few weeks out of the year.
8. But then you realize you get to see your college friends if you go back
You've been on break for almost three weeks, but you already high key miss your friends. Time to go back.
9. Waving bye to your family knowing you're going back home to your college family
See you at spring break, fam.
10. And finally your roommate asks how your winter break went
But now you're safe, and that's what matters. (At least until Syllabus Week is over...)
