Winter break really was great while it lasted. You spent time with your family at Christmas. You welcomed in another new year with your closet friends. You spent many hours curled up by a warm fire watching Netflix. Now, it's all over. School is starting back. Michael Scott is the best person to tell you what it's like to get back into the routine of things after winter break.

1. First things first, you have to unpack.

Everyone knows this is the hardest part of winter break being over. You've traveled back to college, but you can't even rest. You have to unpack a suitcase that is full of clothes that lasted you for three weeks. You will feel like you're slowly dying inside.

2. Next, you have to memorize your class schedule for the upcoming semester.

You had how much time it took to get from class to class mapped out perfectly last semester. You knew if you left your apartment at 10:52 a.m. that you would make it to class by 11:10 a.m. Well, it's over and you have to memorize and plan getting to class on time all over again.

3. Besides getting ready for classes, you have to go back to work.

Another day another dollar, I guess. You still just want to stay in bed all day watching Netflix, though.

4. After preparing for classes, the first full day of school has arrived.

You're not physically or emotionally ready for this.

5. And you'll probably have that one professor that gives you an assignment on syllabus day.

WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT?????

6. Within the first week, you have eight chapters to read, two quizzes, and a paper to write.

You'll probably cry, and that's totally OK.

7. But, the weekend will finally arrive, and you'll get to see your friends that you missed over break.

After quality time with your BFFs, you'll be glad school has started back.

So while getting back to the routine of things is hard at first, deep down inside you know that you missed going to class and seeing your friends. Here's to another great semester!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
