This week’s bachelorette is Delta Gamma’s very own Kelly Dineen McKeough! (AKA McQ/Queso Kelly.) Originally from Glenview, IL and majoring in Mechanical Engineering, this bachelorette dreams of traveling to Mars someday, and most likely dying there. (Help her achieve this dream here.)
Where can we find you on the weekends?
I start the nights playing bingo with the fraternity composites and end the nights playing mind games with the fraternity brothers. (SAE’s still a fraternity, right?)
Describe your ideal first date:
The night starts off with him picking me up in an Uber Black car at 8 o’clock on the dot. He takes me to dinner somewhere *special.* Even though I said, “I don’t care where we go” he should’ve known I wanted sushi anyway. Halfway through dinner, I’ll FaceTime my mom to introduce the two of them. She’ll say something casual like, “So nice to meet you” or “How many grandchildren will you give me?” which we’ll both laugh about until I make him answer the question. After he pays for dinner, he will give me the password to his phone, Facebook, Instagram, and virtual bank accounts—can never become too intimate! He calls another Uber to pick us up even though the fare is 2.4x and drives me straight to Bridges. We exchange goodbyes and he wishes me a good night but doesn’t go past putting his hand on my arm because who expects more than that on the first date? Or the first time you meet them at the bar? Not me, that’s for sure.
What qualifies you to be Bachelorette Of The Week?
Well, I’m 21 and have never been on a date so I’m pretty sure that qualifies me...right?
Where’s the best place to meet guys?
I’ve always found registered social events to be a great place to meet the same guy, multiple times. Nothing beats him reintroducing himself to you every Saturday even though you’ve already met him every single Saturday prior to that.
Who is your spirit animal?
Michael Cera.
What’s the best/worst pickup line you’ve ever heard?
Anything calculus related really gets me, so probably “I wish I was a derivative so I could lie tangent to your curves” - CSE love.
You know he’s a fraternity gentleman when__________________
First of all, I find it ironic that you put fraternity and gentleman in the same sentence; however, I’ve always admired the ease in which they can keep up with multiple girls at the same time, while still making you feel special. Oh, also, when he Snapchats you only from the gym or Carlson.
What was the best part of #MachyDays2016?
Not being paired with SAE.
Describe the worst/strangest/most questionable experience that’s happened to you with a guy:
Most of my closest friends know that grand romantic gestures make me so uncomfortable that I might throw up, so naturally when a guy gave me a bag of Hershey kisses with a note saying, “You can get much more of these at my place later” I nearly passed out on the spot. Also, a guy asking my friend out two hours after I had brought him as my date to date party. Love is fine.
Any advice to the other #SingleLadies out there?
Ashes to ashes, dust to side chicks.
