When the newest season of the Bachelorette aired a few weeks ago, we were quickly introduced to a seemingly odd front runner that everyone started loving to hate. University of Oklahoma alum Chad Johnson shot to the winner’s circle in my bracket and even though he was kicked off a few weeks ago, he is still number one in my heart. Here are 10 reasons why Chad was (and still is) actually the best.
10. He gave you a reason to build strong teeth and bones.
When in doubt, drink some milk. Why? Milk's delicious. You heard it here first folks.
9. He really did try to mind his own business.
So the guy liked to work out alone. Let's be honest everyone, you definitely were not complaining when that man was doing pull-ups shirtless. Or anything shirtless for that matter. All the other guys were basically offended that he didn't want to hang out with them, and that's kind of weird if you ask me.
8. Justin Bieber is a fan.
You remember Justin Bieber right? Like THE Justin Bieber. Not only is he a fan of the tv show in general, he posted a video of the infamous Alex/Chad 2-on-1 date drama and showed his love for our favorite bad boy.
7. He is the most quotable person ever.
Without a doubt, Chad is probably the most talked/tweeted about contestant this show has ever had. This man brought us gems such as "don't poke the Chad-bear" and "life ain't all blueberries and paper airplanes" which will surely serve as Instagram captions and twitter bios for years to come.
6. He is all the workout motivation you need.
If there's one thing Chad loves more than saying he's "financially ready for a relationship", it's working out/staying in shape. The man attached his luggage to his body for extra weight so you know he's serious. Set a picture of him as your phone wallpaper for a week and I can guarantee you'll want to start lifting weights too.
5. He's a Marine.
Although he didn't constantly talk about his time in the military like Luke and Alex, Chad actually did serve in the Marine Corps. In my opinion, being a military man is one of the most respectable things you can be, so he gained some points for this.
4. He likes to make fun of himself.
Ever been on Chad's Instagram? Well if you look between all the shirtless pictures (and there are a LOT of them), you can see that Chad will basically post or repost anything that makes fun of him. There are even a few videos of him watching episodes for the first time and he sits there laughing like the rest of us did. Jimmy Kimmel had him for a video chat live on his show once and Chad had a good spirit about all the jokes thrown his way.
3. He's an OU alum.
Okay, so I may be a little bit biased. If a man can rock the crimson and cream with a set of washboard abs I am so down. Even if he did come across as a little crazy, I'm happy that the Tulsa native picked the right school. Boomer Sooner!
2. He's a dog lover.
Say hello to Pumpkin. This adorable ball of fur is the reason that devoted Chad fans like myself know that he has a heart. According to "StarPulse", Chad refers to Pumpkin as his daughter and as a fellow dog owner I can say that I definitely agree when it comes to my canine companions.
1. He was always upfront about his feelings with Jojo.
Whether he was jokingly calling her naggy or being way too meta about the whole idea of the show (seriously, who falls in love after 24 hours?). Chad was never shy about saying what he really thought about the whole process. You have to commend a guy that goes on this show and doesn't get caught up in the fairytale drama within the first night.
Whether you love him or hate him, Chad Johnson will definitely live on in infamy for the Bachelor/ette franchise. Arguably the best looking and funniest person to ever come through the show, I would be head over heels if ABC decided to make him the next Bachelor (highly unlikely seeing as how rumors of him being on Bachelor in Paradise are already surfacing) or just decide to give him his own show about whatever it is that he does. Either way, I will be patiently waiting by the tv if they ever choose to make these happen. Until then, my love for the Bachelorette bad boy will live on.
