Bachelor Of The Week: Nick Mason

Meet Nick Mason. This senior SAE from Eagan, Minnesota (Go Wildcats) is ready for love, and of course to find #her. Not only is this self-proclaimed One Direction superfan #welltraveled from spending a semester in Europe (#CFL), but he also aims to #lethishairdown as much as he can, similar to one of his idols, Boris Johnson. Now all he needs is a girl by his side.

Why do you think you're fit to be Bachelor of the Week?

Well, I'm very single so I definitely qualify on that front, and I actually applied to be on The Bachelor this year so I feel like this is a natural first step before I take my bachelor status upwards (unless this finds me a girlfriend).

Nicknames?

Mase, Lit Mason

What's your idea of the perfect date?

Any date I could get. But if I had to pick it would definitely involve a rooftop--huge rooftop guy.

What’s your favorite abroad memory?

Have to say meeting the hot wine girl in Prague. If there ever was a time that I believed in love, it was that moment. Sure, there was a language barrier, but I could tell we were meant to be. I never saw her again, but I'll never forget her. The only words we ever said to each other were, "Can I have a hot wine please?" and, "Thanks."

I also have to mention that going to the Cliffs of Moher was incredible. It was a great opportunity to gaze longingly out at the horizon wondering if #she was out there--I was searching for Mo(her).

Does real love exist?

I used to believe in love, but after my recent experiences I'm starting to give up on it. I haven't completely ruled it out, but the longer I go without it and the more sad songs I hear, the less real I think it is. Going abroad was supposed to help me improve my chances of finding love, but here I am typing up my answers for Bachelor of the Week.

What's the worst breakup story you have?

One time I ~casually~ asked Kari Kitrell to date like any respectable gentleman would--via Snapchat direct message. She told me no. After a few sad songs I eventually got over it and we are still friends. Seriously, I'm so over it. Seriously. Stop asking.

Where do you hope to find #her?

Definitely don't have a preference of a location to find #her. It could be anywhere: one of the local watering holes, the CSOM atrium, in a class, game day at Sally's. I know that no matter where we meet I'll be happy.

Best songs to play on a date?

A date is obviously the perfect time to break out your best 1D jams. First date you gotta keep it a little more casual so you probably want to play a little "Night Changes" to keep it upbeat and get the mood right.

When you've been dating for longer is when you really want to break out the power jams. I'm thinking some "You and I" to really let them know how you feel and probably "Little Things" too to really show them how important they are.

If you could ask a One Direction member any question, what would it be?

One question is pretty tough but I mean, I'd probably have to ask Niall if he wants to be best friends, and after that maybe see if I could bring the band back together and replace Zayn. If Bachelor of the Week doesn't help me find #her, joining One Direction definitely would.

If you were in a srat, which one would you be in?

Hmmmm definitely can't win no matter what I answer, but I'll say Kappa.

Best quality you look for in a girl?

Someone that has a good sense of humor and doesn’t take themselves to seriously.

Biggest turn-off from a girl?

When they don’t text me back/don’t like me/don’t follow me on Instagram.

Three words that describe your love life?

It. Doesn’t. Exist.

Go-to pick up line?

Hey! Wanna date? Probably one reason why I'm on Bachelor of the Week...

What do you hope to get out of this Bachelor of the Week fame?

A girlfriend, duh. Or at least someone to come on a date with me (ladies--feel free to message me if this is of interest to you).

You can find Lit Mason during the week "at the prestigious Curtis L. Carlson School of Management" and on weekends you can likely find him belting out some jams at Blarney's karaoke. Are you going to be #her? Let's find out.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
