'The Bachelor' Drinking Game

As the 20th season of “The Bachelor” comes to a dramatic close, the most loyal of fans eagerly await to find out who the future Mrs. Higgins will be. Along with the gossiping and occasional gasping, drinking as the show unfolds is also necessary. Whether it’s water to get your hydration on, soda, or a glass of red wine to fit the true Bachelor theme, put a drink in your hand and prepare yourself for the highly anticipated hometown dates.

To get started a few minutes before the show starts, do the following in accordance to who your favorite contestant is:

1. One sip for Lauren B.

2. Two sips for Amanda.

3. Three sips for JoJo.

4. Four sips for Caila.

Now, as Chris Harrison says, "Tonight, on The Bachelor," get ready for the games to really begin.

Take a sip when:

1. Chris Harrison says anything about tonight’s episode being the “most dramatic episode yet.”

2. Ben expresses how excited he is to be in the girl’s hometown.

3. One of the girls emphasizes that this hometown is a “really big deal.”

4. Ben meets Amanda’s kids.

5. Someone’s family member is super passive aggressive towards Ben.

6. Ben asks a dad for their blessing.

7. Chris Harrison comes in to remind the girls that “this is the final rose tonight.”

Take a gulp when:

1. A girl says that she’s never felt this way before.

2. Someone talks about how they can’t believe that they’re introducing Ben to their parents.

3. A dad talks about how he’s nervous that Ben might break his daughter’s heart.

4. One of the girl’s family members asks if they’re really ready for marriage.

5. A girl talks about how she feels like the luckiest girl in the world.

6. The camera pans in on the tray of roses.

7. Ben says, “This is the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make.”

8. Chris Harrison says, “Ladies,” and brings his hands together.

Finish your drink when:

1. One of the girls confesses how deeply in love she is with Ben.

2. Ben sends someone home and then questions if he’s making the right decision.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
