I Have A Confession About 'The Bachelor....'

The Bachelor is my favorite show, it is my guilty pleasure, and I have some thoughts about this season.

I Have A Confession About 'The Bachelor....'

Valentine’s Day is this week, and I have a date with my textbooks. What can I say, my true love is studying. Sarcasm and my non-existent love life side, let’s talk about a TV show that revolves around love like Valentine’s Day, The Bachelor.

I have been watching The Bachelor/ette/in Paradise for a long time. In fact, I remember watching Emily’s season of The Bachelorette (that’s the season where Arie was on) with my family, and I remember Arie. I was team Jef, and something didn’t mesh Arie and Emily.
This shows that I have been a fan for a long time, it’s the hopeless romantic in me that wants everyone to find love. Today, I can confidently confess that this whole franchise is my guilty pleasure, and I am not ashamed to admit it. The show is good and somehow makes me have strong feelings for all of the contestants every single season.

To be honest, I am not a big fan of this season. I believe Arie is a total gentleman, but he is not the best lead the show has had. In my eyes, Ben Higgins and Sean Lowe are tied for the best lead. Besides that, I find Arie to be kind of boring and repetitive.

This season I have seen more tongues and make out scenes than ever before. Arie is shoving his tongue down these girls’ throats. I bet there are genuine conversations happening between Arie and the girls, I don’t see them though.

Where are the conversations happening? Who are these girls? So far, all I know is that Krystal is a raspy-voiced attention whore, Chelsea is a mom to a little boy, Bekah (short-haired one) is 22, Kendall is a taxidermist, and Tia is from the South and is falling for Arie. Am I wrong?

The most interesting thing that has happened this season other than Bekah revealing her age and Krystal being herself, is that Annaliese cried on every date she has been on because of some traumatic experiences, and Bibiana set up something special for Arie, but didn’t a chance to use it. Also, there’s a girl that went to Yale on the show.

Where is the entertainment other than Krystal? She is not going to make it to end because Arie began to despise her in Fort Lauderdale after that Group Date debacle. Who else is there?

Kendall being quirky, and her taxidermy only goes so far with the entertainment factor. Bekah being mega-young and Arie going on to be middle-aged soon, and that large age gap. Obviously, that is going to be the demise of their relationship, which will lead to a break up of some sort.

That stuff gets old in my eyes, and with Nick’s season there was Corrine, Rachel, Vanessa, Raven, Alexis. All of these people were characters and they were interesting to watch. Alexis didn’t make it far, but she was hilarious, and Corrine was just herself.

On top of that, there aren’t many girls at this point in the season where I am beginning to become a fan of. I like Kendall because she is quirky, kind, and seems to be this amazing person. I like Tia and Bekah, but to me I don’t think any of these girls are winners. I don’t think Arie chooses any of these girls.

Ben and Nick had sparks in their eyes when they were with their final picks, and their chemistry between their final picks was undeniable. I don’t see that Chemistry between Arie and whomever yet. Where is it?

Clearly, I have an obsession to this show and I get way too involved emotionally invested in it. However, this is a guilty pleasure for me. I enjoy taking my mind away from the world and putting it towards people trying to find love in an unrealistic setting. After all, I have a date with my textbooks on Valentine’s Day. #saveme

That’s my take on this season. I think the show is great, but this season isn’t making me want to shout “LOVE” at my television. It’s not making me want to become invested with the cast, whereas in other seasons I have had that inclination to do so.

What are your thoughts? I would love to hear them, and put them in the comments down below.
