As a diehard Bachelor/Bachelorette fan, I sit glued in front of the television every Monday night. Being the fan I am, I decided it was time to defend my Bachelor Nation. I started watching in 2012 (Desiree was my first season — I missed Sean and Catherine’s season by that much), and people tell me all the time that the show never works.

So I did some research, because I wanted to prove them wrong.

Turns out they were right… almost. Not quite!

Here’s a quick recap of all our televised couples:

1. Alex Michel and Amanda Marsh

Our pilot couple failed. Dated a few months after the show and called it quits.

2. Aaron Buerge and Helene Eksterowicz

Engaged… and then unengaged within a few weeks.

3. Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter

Success! They got married and now have kids! Yaay!

4. Andrew Firestone and Jen Schefft

Failed.

5. Bob Guiney and Estella Gardinier

Nope.

6. Meredith Phillips and Ian Mckee

No.

7. Jesse Palmer and Jessica Bowlin

Done.

8. Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado

To their credit, they stayed together for five years. Until Mary was arrested for assaulting Byron (rumors say she punched him while drunk).

9. Jen Schefft

Back from her failed season with Andrew, she was the bachelorette! And she ended up choosing… no one.

10. Charlie O’Connell and Sarah Brice

Dated on and off for a few years before breaking up for good.

11. Travis Stork and Sarah Stone

Broken up.

12. Prince Lorenzo Borghese and Jennifer Wilson

Terminated.

13. Andrew Baldwin and Tessa Horst

Over.

14. Brad Womack

Another contestant who chose no one.

15. Matt Grant and Shayne Lamas

Broken up.

16. DeAnna Pappas and Jesse Csincsak

They failed, but she ended up marrying the brother of one of the guys on the season of "The Bachelor"after her. So basically/kind of/if you look at it that way she totally got married because of the show.

17. Jason Mesnick and Melissa Rycroft

They are not together, but he still married a finalist! He ended up breaking things off with Melissa and asking his other finalist, Molly, for a second chance, which she granted. Now they are married and have a child. I'm counting this one.

18. Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski

Nope.

19. Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi

Didn’t even make it a year.

20. Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez

Bye.

21. Brad Womack and Emily Maynard

Brad is back! Dated off and on and then… broke up.

22. Ashley Hebert and J.P.Rosenbaum

Married yay! They have a child!

23. Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson

Broke up. Got back together. Broke up again.

24. Emily Maynard and Jef Holm

Emily is back! Engaged. Broke up.

25. Sean Lowe and Catherine Guidici

They got married and are literally everyone's favorite. How can you not love them?

26. Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried

Married! (Even though it’s pretty obvious Chris was her second choice *cringe*).

27. Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell

Broken up. Thank goodness. She’s too good for him.

28. Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray

They are no longer together and I will admit to crying so hard.

29. Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff

Broken up.

30. Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth

Making wedding plans!!

*I’d like to make a side note that Nick Viall was the runner up for both Andi and Kaitlyn. Ouch.

31. Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell

Planning to get married this summer.

32. Joelle “JoJo” Fletcher

We shall see… We. Shall. See. (Anyone that's not Chad.)

So there you have it. Four marriages. Two kind-of-because-of-the-show marriages. Two planned marriages for the near future. We’re not going to focus on that rather low statistic (or that a lot of it is staged), because you still have to consider "Bachelor in Paradise," which turned out Jade and Tanner and Lacey and Marcus, so, like, they count extra because we love them so much.

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Before that day, I never really thought about being a friend to myself, and at the time, I didn't really know what it meant. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.

We all have a love hate relationship with winter, lets be real here. The snow makes people forget how to drive, its cold, the roads are bad, and chances are, you will be spending a lot more money than you do during the other months of the year. If you’re from the Midwest, it seems to be that winter lasts for what feels like forever. But despite the struggles that winter brings, there are so many things to love about it.

The Post Thanksgiving Panic And Anxiety

It happens to all of us, the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas the catch up with you.

Thanksgiving Break is most likely everyone’s favorite break during the fall semester. You get to go home and reminisce with all your high school friends. That diet you’ve been on for the past month goes out the window, and you get to eat until you put yourself into a food coma. There’s no rush on homework and you can just lie in bed and Netflix to your heart’s content. To me that sounds like an ideally wonderful break, and totally stress-free.
