Being the only girl in the family with two older brothers can be a bit much at times, but you wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Everyone usually asks "How do you deal with being the only girl? Don't you wish you had a sister?" and the answer never changes. I would not give up my brothers for anything in the world.
Sure sometimes it can be annoying because they don't always understand the female brain, but they also teach you new things about yourself you never knew. Brothers are the most influential, chillest, strictest, and amazing friend you could ever ask for.
Brothers are always honest with you, so they don't care if they hurt the feelings. This quality teaches you how to have a thick skin while growing up. They make you a stronger person. From wiping your tears to making you laugh, they teach you more about yourself than you would think.
They're always hungry so whenever you want food you know to ask them first to go with you. But sometimes they make you pay for it, but you always get over it.
You can point out the permanent scars on your body from "playing" with them. If you were lucky enough to grow up with a brother who played hockey, you understand just how much it hurts to get hit with a street hockey puck. When you were younger they would tickle you until you're in tears or until mom yells at them to stop.
They are your best protectors. They would take you trick or treating and hold your hand to make sure you don't get lost. They wipe your tears when they hit you too hard and make sure you're okay. They always have your back when it comes to a bad day and heartbreaks. They hold your hand when its your grandfather funeral. They are always there to listen, and they are always there to tell you to shut up when you're complaining too much. They defended you from the day you were born and still will to this day. They hate anyone you hate, and no matter what they will always be there to take care of you.
Growing up with brothers taught you a lot about boys, you knew when to stay quiet in the car ride home after a loss. They taught you everything they know about sports, thankfully they played almost every sport in the book. They taught you that you're not the only one who matters, and they always reminded you of reality. They drove you everywhere when you couldn't drive yourself, and they never complained to you about it once.
While I'm saying all of this I should probably apologize for all the times I annoyed, embarrassed, or got mad at you. I never meant to do it, I hope you know that.
When they grew out of their t-shirts, sweatpants, and sweatshirts you got them all. And you loved every single one of them. There is no better comfort than coming home after a long day and taking a nap in their big sweatshirts.
Being the only girl definitely has its downsides. Someone you feel like the odd one out, and being the youngest doesn't always help to that factor. Growing up you always felt like you were being left behind, but as you got older you realized that everyone has their shining moments and you can't take away that from your siblings.
Brothers are the best friends you could ask for because they're so laid back, but never let you get away with dumb things.
If I haven't said it lately, I love you both and I am so thankful for everything you have given me and taught me.
Love,
Your baby sister.
