Deciding on what to wear to a social gathering can be frustrating and stressful. You might ask your friends what they're going to wear, scroll through Instagram for possible inspiration, all the while ending up with the same uniform that has a permanent residence in your closet.

Finding what outfit to wear is difficult enough, but deciding what is deemed appropriate opens up a whole new can of worms. Keeping reading if you ever find yourself in the extremely awkward situation of being overdressed in an under-dressed crowd.

1. "What's everyone else wearing?"

While getting ready for a party or special occasion, you hit up other attendees to see what ensemble they have in store. Between text messaging your buddies and preparing for the upcoming event, you decide to relax and waste time by the method of Netflix binge.

2. "Are they going to the same place as me?"

When you are finally ready to head over to the destination after primping and priming, you spot your friends while en route. You get a little bit nervous by the sight of your casually dressed friends and convince yourself that they're skipping the event.

3. "I think I overdid it."

You arrive at the social gathering and immediately notice the awkward contrast between your outfit and everyone else's. You try to play it cool and begin mingling with friends.

4. "I need to leave."

You try to strike up a conversation with fellow party guests, but all attempts of creating normalcy within your peace of mind have failed.

5. "Is everyone looking at me?"

Insecurity is screaming in your head as you try to play it cool. You feel like thousands of eyes are burning into your soul as you reach for a drink or a snack.

6. "Maybe I should take something off."

You try to bargain with yourself, staring at your cursed clothing in a bathroom mirror. You remove a necklace and tuck it into your purse.

7. "I might have a sweater in my car."

In the hours of absolute despair, you try to downgrade your ensemble by any means necessary. Maybe tying a sweater around your waist will do the trick.

8. "I should mess up my hair."

Maybe tousling your hair or taking off your makeup will create some sort of balance. Any possible source of toning down the formality of your sense of dress could do no harm.

9. "Is anyone else overdressed?"

While trying to seek comfort in individuals who made the same mistake as you, you gaze hopelessly into the crowd and nervously walk around the venue.

10. "Okay, that guy over there is wearing a suit."

You see another overdressed party guest and try to calm yourself down from all the nerves and stress you previously suffered from.

11. "Just one more hour, then I'll go."

Despite all the fun you're having, your burning desire to return to your humble abode never retires.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
