It's officially December, which means it is now socially expectable to go Christmas crazy. Here's some awesome places to visit for the day (or even weekend) to get you into the Christmas spirit!
New York City
NYC is great in general for a trip any time of the year. But, during Christmas the city is even more magical. You can start off your day with Breakfast With Santa. There's many different options from a Santa Breakfast Cruise to one overlooking the ice rink and tree at Rockefeller Center. You can really eat with Santa anywhere you desire.
After you finish up breakfast, you can head over to see the giant tree at Rockefeller Center and go ice skating. The rink opens at 8:30am everyday, and they even offer ice skating lessons.
After you've had a great time with your friends (or family) skating around in circles and occasionally falling on your butt for hours you can head over you can head over to Macy's and warm up a bit. While you warm up, you can explore Macy's huge SantaLand and even meet Good Ol' Saint Nick yourself.
After you pick up your picture with Santa, head over to Radio City Music Hall to watch the Radio City Christmas Spectacular which stars the world famous Rockettes. The show runs multiple time a day, which gives you many choices as to when you want to see it.After the show, head over to see the giant red ornaments and the lights display on Saks 5th Avenue, located at 6th & 50th and 5th & 50th respectively.
After watching the light display, head over to Columbus Circle's Holiday Market. The market features different local venders selling crafts, art, home accessories, and food. You can probably find the perfect christmas gift for mom here.
After a fun day of running around the city, head to one of NYC's many awesome coffee shops for some hot chocolate and to warm up.
Christmas Markets in NJ and PA
There's also a bunch of great christmas markets located throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The German Christmas Marketplace at Lake Mohawk in New Jersey and the Christmas City in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania are great markets to check out.
The German Christmas Marketplace at Lake Mohawk happens one weekend in December every year feature a wide variety of venders from both the United States and Europe. The market also have a wide verity of performances that happen throughout the weekend.
The Christmas City in Bethlehem is open throughout the week all the way through the end of January. It features a large variety of venders selling different crafts, art, and accessories among other things. Each week there is a new set of venders that arrive to sell their goods. Christmas City also offers tours and different shows for their customers to enjoy.
