Ladies, we've all been there. You're at the club, the bar, or a party, just drinking your choice of beverage and maybe dancing to some pretty good music with some of your best friends. You're having the time of your life until suddenly, someone pulls you aside and derails all your fun. They begin to talk to you and proceed to ask you to dance or for your number, but all you really want to do is take a couple of more shots and dance with your friends.
This type of scenario gets incredibly old and annoying. Being in the same boat, I've come up with a few ways to get creative when you don't want to dance with someone at a club, bar, or party.
"She's my girlfriend!"
This is one of my favorites. I usually grab my friend, or even another girl next to me, and tell the guy that the girl is my girlfriend and it usually throws the guy off, leaving him very confused.
"I only like to square dance."
This is a little odd to say, thus forcing the person to believe you're kind of odd and depending on their preferences, this excuse may or may not work.
"I'm claustrophobic."
A girl's gotta have her personal space!
"I can't, I'm about to go to Trujillos."
Let's be real here, Trujillos > boys.
"If I dance any more/longer, I just might throw up."
Hey, everyone gets a little wild now and then! He'll probably thank you for not throwing up on him.
Pretend like you didn't hear what he said.
With the loud music, I don't usually have to pretend that I didn't hear him asking to dance with me because I didn't actually hear him. But if you did, you can always pretend that you didn't.
Give an honest answer.
Lastly, and probably most importantly, I suggest being honest. It's 2018 and women should be able to have the freedom to do what they want without feeling bad for not pleasing someone or giving someone what they want. How the guy reacts to your honest answer that you don't want to dance with them is simply a reflection on them.
