The "freshman 15" is a topic that is constantly talked about. High school seniors fear it, freshmen dread it, and parents don't support it. I told myself I wouldn't gain the weight, but if I did, I would work out until I shed a few pounds. But the problem is, I really like eating and I don't work out.
But then I was on my way to "America's Dairyland," the state where there is a never ending supply of dairy products. And if I thought I heard enough about the freshmen 15 already, I was wrong. When others found out that I was headed to Wisconsin, I was constantly told by family, friends, and people I met in random places, to "watch out for that freshmen 15" because "there's a lot of cheese and beer over there." As if I didn't know... I responded by telling people to expect me 50 pounds heavier the next time they saw me.
In reality, I didn't gain the freshman 15 but I definitely weigh more than before. I mean, how can you avoid a few extra pounds when you live a block away from Insomnia Cookies and PDR makes mac & cheese pizza? Getting back from a night out, all you want is a large pizza, fries, mozzarella sticks, and a few cookies. You can try to avoid the carbs and eat the carrots that come with the chicken wings but where's the fun in that? Say you won't indulge in the late night snacking all you want, but you're wasting your breath.
