As women, it is very easy to get lost in all the things happening in the world today. Whether it is politics, love, dating or family, life can get very hectic. Sometimes the things that we see or the circumstances in our lives can easily affect how we see ourselves. But one thing that we must remember is our worth in Christ.

Autumn leaves to me are symbolic. To me, they don’t just show that fall is here, but they show the way that we as women view ourselves in a world that begs to distort our image into its own version. For example, before Autumn, leaves are green. A green leaf reveals how we are seen in Christ's eyes.

When leaves turn color to signify autumn, this symbolizes how the world changes how we view ourselves so much so that we forget that we were green in the first place. See today, women are viewed as silent sexualized objects that can only share an opinion if they are “allowed” to. Fortunately, there is a better viewpoint that allows us to see Him and ourselves the way that He created us. And that is Christ. Because Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and because He loves us beyond compare, His viewpoint of us has never changed and will never change.

Throughout the Bible, God states that we are loved, cherished, free, beautiful, and worthy. All of God’s viewpoints of us are found in both the New and the Old Testament. We as women need to remember how our Father created us. He created us as women who are brave, unique, outspoken and loved. God wants us to change the world with the worth that He has given us. So here are a few things our Father states about our worth.

1. Proverbs 31:10

“An excellent woman (one who is spiritual, capable, intelligent and virtuous), who is he who can find her? Her value is more precious than jewels and her worth is far above rubies or pearls”

2. Proverbs 31:12

“She comforts, encourages, and does him (her husband and those around her) only good and not evil, all the days of her life.”

3. Proverbs 31:17

“She equips herself with strength (spiritual, mental and physical fitness for her God given task) and makes her arms strong.”

4. Proverbs 31:25-26

“Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; and she smiles at the future (knowing that she and her family are prepared). She opens her mouth in (skillful and godly wisdom) and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue giving counsel and instruction."

5. Songs of Solomon 4:7

“O my love, you are altogether beautiful and fair, there is no flaw nor blemish in you!”

This is who we are as women. If we base ourselves on what God sees in us, we will become all that we were created to be. God loves us and when we allow His love to shape how we view ourselves we will be able to love ourselves fully.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
