Fall Is The Best Season

My top ten reasons why I love fall the most.

Fall Is The Best Season
Hugh Morton

Maybe I am bias because my birthday is in October, but in my opinion, Autumn is the best season. There are so many different changes, foods, and events that happen in fall that makes it so special. This is my list of the top ten reasons that the season Fall is the best.

1. The Leaves Change Color

If you live or have ever been in the North part of the country as the transition from Summer to Winter, you know that what happens in between is spectacular. The leaves do not just stay green then fall off the trees, rather they turn into a beautiful array of warm colors first.

2. Pie

Nothing says Fall more than baking, and eating, pie. Whatever kind of pie it is, the best part about thanksgiving is eating warm pie and vanilla ice cream. My favorites are apple and pumpkin, but you can never go wrong with pudding pie.

3. Halloween

When else can you dress up as someone or something else and get free candy? As far as I know, only on Halloween. Thus, making fall just so much more awesome and the best season.

4. Apple Picking

I love going apple picking for so many reasons. One is that the smell of the fresh apples is spectacular. Another is you get to fill a bag full of fresh, handpicked apples. They are the kind perfect for that warm, home-baked apple pie.

5. Leave piles

Yes, I am a child. I like to make giant leaf piles so I can jump in them. But in fairness, this is the only time of year that I can actually gather enough leaves to make the piles.

6. Pumpkin Carving

I definitely do not have the skills or patience to carve intricate faces and designs on pumpkins. So if you see a pumpkin with two triangle eyes and some bizarre zigzag mouth, it is more than likely my pumpkin. Needless to say, I rather do enjoy taking out all of the seeds out of the pumpkin.

7. Thanksgiving

It may be sad to think that this Holiday means we are at the near-end of fall, but when else do we get to have a whole day dedicated to eating food? I love thanksgivng because I am thankful for so many people and things, including Fall.

8. Halloween Movies

I love scary/horror movies, but Halloween movies are definitely my next favorite kind. From Hocus Pocus to Halloweentown, I will always get excited at this time of year.

9. Fall Scented Candles

It is safe to say I have a slight addiction to candles; especially ones that remind me of Fall. My favorite scent, of all time, is one that I discovered at the Christmas Tree Shop: Indian Corn. It has a sweet, yet simple, scent that just sends you to an Autumn mood.

10. I Have Waited A Whole Year

The best part about Fall is that I know I have waited a whole year for it. I had to endure a cold and bare Winter, followed by a wet Spring, and then suffered through a hot and humid Summer. But now, I get to look forward to the best season of all!

So there is my top ten reasons why this is the best time of the year. You may differ in opinion, but Fall is definitely a beautiful season.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
