Montclair State University to host Jersey Stars event for Jersey-born talent!

Montclair, NJ is holding its fifth annual Autism New Jersey benefit. The event is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Memorial Auditorium of Montclair State University (MSU) located at 1 Normal Avenue in Montclair, NJ. The "Performers For A Purpose" benefit - presented in partnership with the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter of MSU will begin at 7:30pm. Tickets are $15.00 for general admission and $10.00 for students. The tickets can be purchased in advance online at: www.autismnj.org/fundraising_events

The Star Singers partaking in this event are Tony nominee Stephanie J. Block, comedian Sunda Croonquist, and former member of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons Don Ciccone. Block has starred in hit musicals such as Anything Goes, 9 to 5, The Pirate Queen, The Boy From Oz, and Wicked. She is a four-time drama-desk award nominee and has appeared in many Broadway shows. In 2013 she received nominees for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for The Mystery of Edwin Drood.

Sunda Croonquist is an insanely hilarious comedian living in California. She is a born and raised Jersey girl. Sunda considers New Jersey to be her home state and is honored to perform at the Autism NJ event again. Her cookbook, "Kosher Soul Food" will be sold at the event in which a percentage of the proceeds will go the Autism NJ.

Don Ciccone is another one of the event's Star Singers. Following his journey with his original band, The Critters; Singer/Songwriter Don Ciccone sang and performed in the group Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons in 1975. After Ciccone joined, the popular group produced many hit songs such as "Who Loves You," "Sherry," and "Oh, What a Night." Ciccone was featured on many tracks singing alongside Frankie Valli.

The Montclair State Freshman Revue will be performing at the event as well. Additionally, the Papermill Playhouse's Broadway Show Choir will be showcasing their repertoire.
