18 Everyday Things All Short Girls Struggle With

1. High shelves

This should really be an Olympic sport. You can always figure out a way to climb to the very top shelf no matter what.

2. The pool

Otherwise known as struggling to keep your head above water and you have not even reached the deep end yet.

3. Concerts

Why is it that a giraffe always gets the spot in front of you? Just once, I'd like to not stretch to watch the show.

4. Pants

Even the "short" pants are too long. We either have to learn how to hem or just accept the holes in the bottom of your jeans.

5. Skirts and dresses

Don't want to struggle with pants that are too long? Have fun trying to find a dress or skirt that isn't too long. Or just rock that skirt as a dress, cause why not?

6. I SWEAR IM NOT 12!

I am an adult, I might be the size of a child, but I assure you that I am old enough to do things myself.

7. Driving

You can't reach the pedals. The sun visor doesn't block any sun at all. You can never get your seat back in the same spot after anyone else drives your car.

8. Mirrors at tall people's houses

Darn tall people, I'd really like to be able to see myself without climbing on something. Why can't tall and short people have mirrors together?!

9. Roller coasters

Yes, I know I barely meet the height requirement to get on this ride. No, you don't have to remind me of it for new next few hours.

10. Tall chairs

Why don't they make chairs shorter at restaurants? I swear my feet never touch the floor, not even on the toilet.

11. Kissing

At least my calfs are nice from standing on my tippy toes to kiss. But, being short has it's advantages, perfect height for forehead kisses.

12. Pictures

Taking pictures with your friends is always a struggle, either their heads are cut off, or your chin is cut off. A perfect picture is so hard to come by.

13. DO. NOT. PICK. ME. UP!

Just because I can fit in your pocket doesn't mean you can just pick me up whenever you want.

14. Puddles and snow

Jumping over a puddle with you little legs is like participating in the long jump event. Chances are you probably won't make it over the puddle and then your pants legs, that are three inches too long, will get wet and there's no quick way to get rid of that.

15. Jerks.

We all have those people that hold all your stuff over your head so you can't reach it… Just stop. We all hate you.

16. Thanks for using my head as an arm rest… not.

Just don't. I don't like smelling your arm pits.

17. Students? More like giants.

As an education major, I've come to the realization that even the middle schoolers are gonna be taller than me. Do they put miracle grow in the school lunches these days or what? If so, why wasn't that a thing when I was in school?

At the end of the day, being short is a challenge, but you've got to embrace it! Walk under all those low things other people have to duck for. Find the right guy and don't worry about him being too short! Tie your shoes with ease while those tall kids struggle. Curl up in a ball to keep warm. Leggings are always an option cause your shirts are way too big. Rock the oversized shirt style with ease. But most of all, love yourself!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
