5 Reasons Being An Aunt Is The Best
Katrina Roshak

In This Article:

I absolutely LOVE having the title "Auntie". My nieces and nephews mean the world to me. So let me tell you a bit about them. There's seven of them. Their ages range from 1-17. There are four boys and three girls. AND there are two sets of twins! I became an Aunt when I was 3 years old when my sister gave birth to a set of girl twins. Ever since then, I was known as "Auntie Katrina." Here are five reasons why being an aunt is the best:

1. You can borrow a child.

Being an Aunt means you can borrow a child at almost any time you want. Lucky for me, I have 7 to choose from. You can keep them for a weekend, a day, or even a few hours. Then, you can just give them back to their parents.

2. You're a role model to them.

Knowing that my nieces and nephews may view me as a role model has made me change the way I present myself. I've learned that those children will copy every single thing you do. My nieces look up to me for makeup and fashion. My nephews look up to me for my awesome skills at video games (honestly, they're better than me).

3. You can spoil them as much as you want.

I love spoiling my nieces and nephews. My favorite thing to do is to give them a bunch of candy and sweets then giving them back to their parents before the sugar rush. I automatically become the world's best auntie and I don't have to deal with a sugar rush!

4. They come to you for advice.

From experience, it's not always easy asking parents for advice. Sometimes I would go to an aunt, uncle, or a close family friend. My nieces and nephews come to me for advice all the time. They come to me for advice for relationships, friendships, lady problems, school problems, or even video games. They know I'll always try to steer them in the right direction and will help them with whatever they need.

5. You'll learn parenting skills.

Being an aunt automatically gives you some parental experience. I have learned so much being an aunt. From changing diapers to prom hair and makeup. Each day with them is a new experience or challenge that I learn to overcome.

Being an aunt is one of the best titles you can have. I love my nieces and nephews with my whole heart. To Katelynn, McKenzie, Larissa, Ethan, Aiden, Kai, and Ahri, this article is for you.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
