Ahhh, it's the best time of the year, going back to school. There's the opportunity to make new friends, start off fresh in your classes, and try new things. Although college is fun and exciting place, there are a few things that just get on your nerves.
1. Holding the door for someone who doesn't say thank you
A rule of thumb, don't hold the door for someone and expect any type of gratitude. If you do, you'll be disappointed
2. People who leave their clothes in washers and dryers
The laundry room is a war zone. It's honestly just rude to leave your clothes in a washer and dryer when there are X amount available for your whole building. Don't be a jerk; just set a timer on your phone. No one wants to feel awkward taking your clothes out of a washer or dryer and feel obligated to folding them. If you know you don't have enough time to finish you're laundry, you really just shouldn't start.
3. When your advisor is late for your meeting
I mean, you only set it up a month in advance
4. Writing a long, grammatically correct email to your professor and they respond with one word
Not only did you have a great opening and closing "Hello___ I hope this email finds you well, and "I look forward to hearing back from you", you sent this email to 5 friends and your Mom to proof read before you sent it. My favorite part about this when a professor's signature is "Sent from iPhone"
5. Dining hall workers moving slow as molasses whenever you have somewhere to be
I mean honestly, when aren't you in a rush in college?
6. When the shuttle isn't on time
Woohoo yay for being late to class. Telling your professor that the shuttle is the reason you're late, it's normally a very acceptable excuse. You can thank your school's shuttles for this one.
7. When someone cuts you in line at the dining hall
Apparently I'm invisible today. I wasn't waiting in line or anything...Should I say something and look petty or just let it go?
8. When someone has a case of the sniffles during a test
Oh man, just grab a box of tissues and move on with your day.
9. The one student who asks 5 questions, delaying your class' dismissal
Everyone knows that one person I'm talking about.
10. Doing all of the work in a group project
If you thought group work ended in high school, I hate to be the one to break it to ya, but it doesn't. If you were the student who did all of the parts of a group project, do NOT fall back into this role in college; let it be someone else's responsibility. You will be super stressed out; you can thank me later.
