When arriving to a new university you accept the challenge to take on a new life. You can choose many avenues to get involved and meet new friends to walk with you in new adventures. One way to partake in these new embarkments is through campus ministries and churches.

There are many wonderful places to worship on and around campus. Here you will find some basic information on a few churches I am familiar with. This is by no means an exhaustive list, and all church information and further guidance can be found online.

Church of the Highlands - Church of the Highlands is one (non-denominational) church with many locations. The Auburn campus streams a live worship experience with the main campus in Birmingham, Alabama. They offer services open to anyone on Sundays at 8, 9:30, 11:30, and 6, with a new service time of 4:30 starting the first Sunday in September. A college service named "ONE" is offered on Thursday nights at 8 pm. Church of the Highlands is located at 2001 E Samford Ave, Auburn, AL 36830. First Baptist Opelika - First Baptist Opelika is located at 301 S. 8th St. Opelika, AL 36801. Service times include: 8 pm on Wednesdays and includes Sanctuary worship, teaching, and prayer. Sunday at 9:45 and 11 am, college service meets in the 316 Center with worship and teaching. During those times there are regular services with the whole church congregation including traditional worship at 8:30 am, contemporary worship at 9:45, and blended worship at 11. Auburn Community Church - Auburn Community Church is a brand new church launching this fall. Service times will be held at 5:30 on Sunday nights. This is a non-denominational church. The services are currently being hosted at Trinity Lutheran Church which is located at 446 S Gay St, Auburn, AL 36830. For more information call (770) 313-8761.

Lakeview Baptist Church - Lakeview Baptist meets on Sundays at 10:45 am and 6 pm. College ministries are updated online. Lakeview is located at 1600 E Glenn Ave, Auburn, AL 36830. College Bible studies are held Wednesdays at 7:14 pm (based off 2 Chronicles 7:14) and Sundays at 9:15 am. For more information see lakeviewbaptist.org or call (334) 887-7094.

Cornerstone Church - Cornerstone is a United Methodist church with three locations in the Auburn/Opelika area, including Hamilton Road (the main location, 2123 Hamilton Rd, Auburn, AL 36830), Lee Scott Academy, and the Irish Bred Pub in Opelika. The Hamilton Road location has services at 9 and 1030, and Lee Scott and the Bred Pub offer their service at 1030. College ministry is held on Monday nights at 8 pm. First Presbyterian Church Opelika - First Presbyterian Church Opelika offers traditional worship settings at 8:15 and 10:45 on Sundays. The church offers Traditional worship coupled with honest, convicting, Christ-centered sermons. This church is located at 900 2nd Avenue Opelika, Al. 36801. Gateway Family Church - Gateway Church has three locations: Auburn, Birmingham, and North Mobile. Auburn service is held at 10 am on Sundays. The Auburn campus has moved to a new location and can be found at 1667 Shug Jordan Parkway Auburn, AL. 36830. Auburn United Methodist Church - AUMC sits on the corner of Magnolia and Gay Street. AUMC offers five Sunday services: contemporary services at 9:30 in the Sanctuary and 11 in the Fellowship Hall, traditional services at 8 and 11 in the Sanctuary and 9:30 in the Chapel. AUMC offers a college ministry known as DIVE on Thursdays at 7 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The address is 137 S Gay St. Auburn Al. 36830 and more information can be found online at aumc.net or by calling (334) 826-8800.

Auburn Church of Christ - Auburn Church of Christ offers Bible class at 9:30 am and Worship at 10:30 am and 6 pm on Sundays. Wednesday class is held at 6:30 pm. College students meet at the Auburn Christian Student Center on Tuesdays at 7 pm. It's located at 712 South College Street, Auburn, AL 36830. St. Michaels Catholic Church - St. Michaels is located at 1100 N College St, Auburn, AL 36830. They offer daily mass times which are located on the website bulletin. Sunday services are held at 10:30 am, 5 pm, 8 pm, and daily mass is held at 12:10 pm. They offer an adoration service at the Mitcham house (catholic student center) from 8:30-10 pm on Mondays. Evening mass is at the Mitcham house at 9 pm on Tuesdays. Thursday evening mass is held at the church at 6 pm followed by two dollar dinner at Mitcham with other students. More information can be found at stmichaelsauburn.com or by calling (334) 887-5540.

Again, this is not a complete list of churches in the community, but simply a few churches brought to my attention by peers. If these churches do not interest you make sure to check the concourse on "O-days" and check out some of the many church tables to help you gather more information.
