As I finish up finals week, I've spent a lot of time in Starbucks these past few weeks studying and writing. When I'm there, I spend a few hours at a time getting work done. Naturally, my drink is gone by the time I leave, but thanks to the free refills, I can go back for more or switch to something else.

Sitting in Starbucks inspired this article because I barely saw anyone take advantage of this! I felt like I was the only one - when I told my friends and family about it everyone surprised. Now, I don't go crazy. I drink water in between and usually only get one refill, but it's so worth it if you're in productive mode because it motivates you to stay there and keep working.

Now, there are some terms and conditions, but it's still a great deal:

You have to be a rewards member in order to get free refills, but all you have to do is open up a points card.

It's not a credit card, so you can just add money as you go.

You also have to use your rewards card (free drink on your birthday and free item every 125 stars) to buy your drink and present your card again when going up for a refill.

Don't get crazy, refills don't include fancy drinks like Frappuccinos, lattes or macchiatos. Refills include "brewed coffee (hot, iced coffee or cold brew), and tea (hot, or iced) during the same store visit regardless of the original beverage at participating Starbucks stores." This means your first drink can be whatever you want, and your still eligible to receive refills on coffees and teas, even if you didn't start off with that.

You can only get refills during the same visit, which means once you leave the store, you can't come back and get a refill. You have to be sitting in Starbucks in order to receive them. I think this is pretty fair considering how much I go to Starbucks to get work done. If this were a less restricted benefit, it wouldn't be healthy and people would take advantage of it. The last thing I need is free refills on any beverage with no restrictions!

Lastly, I should add that they're completely free if you're a gold member (which I am, it really doesn't take that long to reach gold status), and .50c if you're a regular rewards member. It automatically picks up on their machine whether or not to charge the .50c because their cash system recognizes your status when you swipe. Every time I've gone they say 50c, but then it never goes through and charges my card since I'm a gold member.

Remember to bring your own reusable cup and help reduce unnecessary waste and save .10c while doing it, too!

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
