Slut shaming...

“An unfortunate phenomenon in which people degrade or mock a woman because she enjoys having sex, has sex a lot or may even just be rumored to participate in sexual activity." -- Urban Dictionary

The majority of people calling women "sluts" are other women. This has got to stop. I am done being frustrated with girls who call other girls "whores, sluts, hoes or tramps." I'll admit, I have had my fair share of calling girls these names, but when I finally grew up and realized this is wrong...I freaking stopped...

Don't be like this chick above. Ever.

The reason men think it's "OK" or acceptable to call women sluts is because they've heard other girls say the same thing. The thing is, girls slut shame other girls because they are most likely jealous of these girls who are having sex. Cut that crap out. By girls calling other girls sluts, it makes it seem like it's OK for men to call women sluts, which is never OK to do. As the wise Tina Fey once said in "Mean Girls":

I want women to know that it's OK for girls to partake in multiple sexual relationships without feeling like they are a "hoe." There are so many names that people call women who have sex -- slut, whore, hoe, skank, tramp, thot, etc. But when a man has sex it's seen as a "player" and "the man." I'm sorry, but what the heck? I'll admit that I am angry!

There is nothing I hate more than when women who slut shame other females. For such a large social issue, it doesn't seem right for a woman to partake in such awful activity that women all over the world are trying to fight against. Nobody wants to be called a slut, so why would you call one of your kind such a harsh name?

Hey, I'm all for "SNL," but don't ever say this! But I just want to lay out some straight facts and some straight wisdom.

You are a woman.

You are allowed to have sex.

You are allowed to not want to have sex.

You are allowed to have as much as sex as you want.

You are allowed to have as little sex as you want.

You are allowed to have zero to an infinite number of sexual partners.

Help your fellow females out, and stop slut shaming!

If you hear somebody calling women "sluts" or any other fucking rude ass name, then go ahead and link them this article. Maybe they can stop hating on their own gender for a minute and grow a brain!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
