Attention Christian Voters!

You being a Christian should matter when you choose who to vote for.

Attention Christian Voters!

This is not written to tell you who you should vote for. I'm not going to do that. It is, however, to tell you that you being a Christian should play a huge role in deciding who to vote for. Individually, we have to research, pray and listen to our conscious.

During the last presidential election someone asked me who I was voting for. I told who, and of course was asked why. I said because my morals and values line up a lot more closely with his and I believe he will do more to help this country get back to God. This person told me my religion should have no part in who I vote for. This statement couldn't have been anymore wrong. When God is first in your life (as he should be) he is a huge part of every decision we make, big or small.

I could never in good conscious vote for someone who supports so many sinful behaviors that are condemned in the Bible. I have to think about what I believe is right and choose the candidate who I think will look to God for guidance. I can't judge the hearts of any of the candidates, I can only go by what I've heard them say and what I've watched them do. From this alone, it's clear to me that as a Christian one candidate is better than the other and that is Mr. Trump. He's no where near perfect and would have never been my first, second, or third choice but I do believe he is the better option. He's done and said a lot of things I don't agree with, but I don't believe I can stand by and not vote for anyone. I agree with the Republican Party in general much more than the Democrats, and that's my little thread of hope for this election.

There is a lot more than just religious beliefs that goes into choosing who to vote for. I want someone who will try to protect my rights and freedoms as an American. I want someone who will face the enemy head on and protect our safety. I want someone who will actually acknowledge the enemy and call them for what they are. I want someone who will protect our second amendment rights. I want someone who will make the future brighter so I can feel good about wanting to raise children in this world.

I'm trying not to worry about the results of this election because I know that no matter what, God is ultimately in control. All I can do for this election is pray. I pray that I, along with everyone else, will vote for the best candidate. I pray that whoever wins will do their best and look to God for the wisdom he/she will need to make decisions for the country.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7

I don't think any one person, other than Jesus Christ himself, can "save" this world and bring us back to being a Godly nation. But, if I'm going to be voting for someone who could potentially be the most powerful person in the country, you can bet that I'll be voting for the one who I believe will have the best intentions for us.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
