The Bullet Journal

I have recently was introduced to a Bullet Journal and I've been in LOVE ever since.

I'm a person who loves to make anything look cute and organized but have a hard time dividing my time between the two, so this was perfect for me. Plus, the amount of sticky notes I had around were getting pretty out of hand; which didn't help me cringe when thinking about how cluttered my desk looked. After spending the rest of my afternoon reading blogs about bullet journals and scrolling through multiple posts on Pinterest, I went out and bought one. Now, you could have ordered one online for about 7.99 off Amazon but I'm an impulsive person with no patience and spent a little more than that at Barnes & Noble.

One ALL (yes, ALL) the blogs I have read, they say to make a list before you start your journal. Don't be lazy, make the list. It will help you, I promise.

The first page of every Bullet Journal I have seen has been a Key and/or an Index. I did not do an Index but I did a key. At first I thought it was pointless but the more research I did I found that it helps because there is so much you want to put on these pages. If you like to stay nice and neat, you will love these. Now, I just started to draw mine out with a marker and didn't really think it through. If you're a person who is okay with mistakes you cannot erase, write with a marker. Be my guest. But if you're someone like me, you should write it in pencil beforehand! Trust me, I had to hunt down a pencil due to how often I use them...

So me being Miss Impatient, I tried my first page (an April calendar) in pen/marker first. I cannot express to you how much of a difference using pencils, colored pencils, crayons, and small tip markers (better press lightly) will have when you start with pencils. Not only will you have room and make sure you don't miss something, it won't bleed through!

Having learned the hard way, I now do all my pages in pencil first. You can tell the difference between the month of April and May.

So, if you start a Bullet Journal... Read the blogs, listen to suggestions, and use pencils! It will save you time and from mentally breaking down if make a mistake.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
