Music Spotlight: Against The Current

Against the Current, or ATC, is a small band out of Poughkeepsie, New York. If you're from Jersey, like I am, then you'll be happy to know that the lead singer, Chrissy Costanza, of this pop-rock band is right out of our little state.

Against the Current started back in 2011. The group was formed between Dan Gow and Will Ferri, the band's guitarist and drummer respectively. Chrissy Costanza joined the band the same summer, convinced to join by her late friend Julius.

Against the Current's career started on Youtube, doing cover songs with Alex Goot, Kurt Hugo Schneider, Sam Tsui, and other noteworthy names.

The band released their first original, non-album single, Thinking, in 2012.

The first EP, Infinity, came out mid 2014. It landed at 28 on the US Heat's "Top Heatseekers" chart.

The first headlining world tour for Against the Current came with the release of their full album, Gravity. The ablum landed at 4th on US Heat's charts.

Currently, Against the Current is on tour for their second album, In Our Bones. If you want to hear music from Kerrang's "2016 Hottest Band," you're in luck, tickets for their North American tour went on sale September 15th. The tour starts in Pittsburgh, November 15th.

People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
