5 Easy DIY's You Can Do With Things You Already Have Around The House

In This Article:

Throughout the quarantine, people have been doing whatever they can to pass the time. DIY's are a great way to do that, but they can get expensive if you have to go out and buy a lot of materials to do them.

One of the most popular DIY's to come out of this time is the bleached sweatpants and sweatshirt set, which can be pretty cheap if you shop at the right places, and can end up looking super cute and trendy!

However, that is not what this article is about. This article is about different self care and fun DIY's that you can do with things you probably already have laying around your house!

2. Fruit Tie Dye

Buying the tie dye packs at the store can get really expensive really fast, just to use it one time and forget you ever bought it. A very good alternative to that could be using fruit you have that may be about to go bad or that you do not want to dye your clothes with! You can also use old shirts or any clothes you have laying around that you don't wear anymore rather than buying new ones. This video gives a great tutorial on the process of turning the fruit into dye as well as doing the actual shirt!

3. Egg White Hair Mask

4. Cardboard Bookmarks

Find any cardboard box you may have from old deliveries or purchases and decorate it to be a cute bookmark! All you need for this is the box and some paint and voila, now you're reading in style!

5. Soda Bottle Planters

Brudiy.com

Who doesn't love a cute holder for all of their little green friends? For this one, you need an old soda bottle, some paint, soil and seeds. Cut off the bottom of the bottle and start working on a cute little home for your plants!

After spending months at home, these are some good things to do to pass the time. It's also an added bonus that you come out the other end with something really cool and fun, or glowing skin and hair! Be sure to take into account what works for your skin and hair before trying any of this if you are sensitive to any of these products.

Help to pass some time and keep things interesting by trying some of these out today! I know I'm excited to show off my fruit sweatshirt next time I go outside.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
