Explaining the Experience: Astroworld Tour

Travis Scott has been having a year. Astroworld has been raking in cash and "Sicko Mode" just hit number one on the charts. Now after doing back to back shows on tour, Travis has announced a second round of touring. The man doesn't stop!

I am here to tell you today about one of the best concert experiences of my life. First, I should note that I am biased since Travis Scott is my favorite artist. However, I firmly believe his concerts are on a new level. I was fortunate enough to see him live in concert at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. As soon as you pulled up to the venue, decorations leapt out at you. The entrance to the stadium was covered by a giant Travis Scott head with it's mouth open wide to open visitors. To the left of that, a large and colorful ferris wheel was stationed to garner even more attention. Getting inside in and of itself was a hassle. People were literally pushing other folks down just to get ahead in line, and chants would start if they closed the doors for too long.

By a stroke of luck, one of our friends knew somebody who worked there and we were able to sneak in through a back entrance. This was it... I could hear the music pulsing from the stage. As we were being brought to the floor section, my heart began to beat faster and faster. It was time to rage.

We entered the floor section and started going wild! The opener was Sheck Wes and he had just started playing his hit "Mo Bamba." We danced and jumped as we simultaneously tried to inch closer to the front of the stage. After finally finding our spot, Sheck Wes played one more of his popular songs ("Live Sheck Wes") and then left the stage to prepared for the next artist. I had only enjoyed about 10 minutes of concert at that point, but I was still feeling great. The next two acts came out which included Trippie Redd and Gunna. Trippie had a fantastic performance while Gunna was somewhat subpar... UNTIL LIL UZI VERT CAME OUT! The surprise appearance by Uzi was once in a lifetime for me and he sang his hit "New Patek."

Now, it was time. As we waited for Travis to come on stage, ominous music played in the background. Crews were setting up the insane set pieces for Travis' performance, and I grew more excited every minute until finally...

The lights grew dim, and then AN EXPLOSION OF LIGHT AND FIRE! It had come from the other side of the stadium as Travis emerged on a second stage! As soon as he came out, "Stargazing" started blasting. The real concert had begun. I wish I could name all of the songs he played, but there were so many and so good that I simply cannot! Travis then utilized a roller coaster mechanism to come back to the stage closer to us. The rest of the concert consisted of insane dancing, mosh pits, yelling, sweat, and exhilaration. I was within 5 feet of my favorite artist, hell he looked me right in the eye as I was raging to his music! Travis does something to crowds I've never seen before, he keeps them going for the whole time, and it was an experience I will cherish for years to come.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
