To People Who Hate Astrology, Let People Enjoy Things

We all know someone who scoffs at the idea of anything out of the ordinary. They immediately shut down any uncommon or unproven thought as ludicrous or preposterous. Basically, they refuse to let anyone enjoy something they don't observe or believe in themselves.

This school of thought is annoying and boring. And if this is you, please just stop.

You really don't have to make someone feel inferior because they choose to open their minds to something yours cannot comprehend. Even if you think they are spouting absolute nonsense, it really harms you in no way.

In fact, asking questions and generally inquiring to know more about something you find absurd is a much more positive and constructive way to go about a conversation of this kind. You allow the other person to feel important while gaining another's viewpoint.

You truly gain nothing in life by looking through your own tunnel vision and shutting down any conversation you don't understand. Rather than making fun or poking holes, try considering another perspective and giving the idea more than two seconds of conscious thought.

This philosophy goes for any uncommon viewpoint, whether it be about religion, conspiracies, supernatural ideologies, etc. There is plenty that we don't know about the world, and blocking out anything you don't agree with will not allow you to grow as a person. Believe it or don't, as long as you take the time to listen and understand.

The world has enough boring and mean people. If you can't allow yourself to be open to something new like astrology, at least make people feel good by listening with a genuine desire to understand. It really doesn't matter if you believe in astrology, or anything for that matter, just don't be a dick and let people enjoy things.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
