Astrology Is Fun, Let People Enjoy Things

Now if you are unfamiliar with what exactly astrology is, according to liveabout.com, "Astrology is the study of patterns and relationships — of planets in motion, our birth chart, synastry with others, the make-up of elements — and using that knowledge as a tool to find meaning." Astrology used to be common in academic circles and was considered to be a science.

But in recent decades, it has lost it's academic and theoretical standing. But just because it is not considered a science anymore does not mean that people can't enjoy it or put their faith in it. Most people know about it due to the 12 zodiac signs (Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, and Sagittarius) which most people know their sun sign since it is based on your birth date. Someone can also figure out their moon, rising signs and the placement of planets if they know the time of their birth.

For example, there are roughly 4200 religions in our world and there is little to no concrete proof to any of those religions. But that does not stop anyone from following whatever religion they choose, it is what gives them peace and comfort. Practicing a religion is a societal norm, why can't astrology be afforded the same ideology? The fact that there are individuals out here complaining about astrology and how it's a bunch of garbage is so asinine.

Now with all interest/hobbies, there will always be a select few who can be deemed annoying. But the point still stands, those who enjoy learning about how the stars affect our lives should be allowed to enjoy their journey to knowledge? It's not like astrology is being used to save lives or build rocket ships, why must science be behind it? Astrology is just a fun way to have something to explain live events and human behavior. While it might not be the most accurate, at the end of the day it is just another hobby to which people should be left to enjoy.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
