Astrology Can Hold You Accountable In 2019

Aries: March 21-April 19

Dear Aries, you are passionate, driven, and not going to let anything stop you from getting what you want. Why should 2019 be any different? You are a natural-born leader! This is the year to ask for that promotion (we all know you deserve it). Stay focused this year by clearly listing your goals for 2019, long term and short term, and hold yourself accountable for getting what you want.

Bring your passion into everything you do this year. You love life, your professional life, and your personal life.

Aries are very fast to move from thing to thing, not wanting anything to hinder their independence, but make sure you give yourself time to breathe this year. Practice self-care so you're not drained when you make it to the top.

Taurus: April 20-May 20

Taurus, you are persistent and your energy is so magnetic! This is your year for new job opportunities and connections. I doubt networking has been a problem for you in the past, but this year is your year! Don't be afraid to apply to your dream job this year, with your magnetism and persistence you will keep trying until you get there.

Coupled with your persistence, your patience will be a great asset to you this year. The way you handle pressure is admirable and shows that you are ready for success on all fronts.

Tauruses are very indulgent, but make sure you don't go overboard this year. Enjoy enough comfort food, sex, and money to be comfortable and happy, but don't forget that things are best in moderation, dear Taurus.

Gemini: May 21-June 20

Gemini!! Yes, you get exclamation points Gemini because Gemini is such a communicative sign. I feel like when you have something to say, you just want to get it out, ASAP. Gemini is driven and ready to put in the work needed to achieve their goals. Gemini, do not be afraid to do the same with your love life this year!

You need a relationship that THRIVES off of communication and openness, and this year you are ready to finally meet that person. Do not be afraid to let yourself feel your emotions this year, instead of trying to ignore them or wish them away. This is with your friendships, relationships, and yourself! You got this Gemini.

Cancer: June 21-July 22

Cancer. I truly believe that you are THE sweetheart of the zodiac. So loving and giving, you are an amazing and incredibly loyal friend. Cancers are very family-oriented, so make sure you maintain those close ties with your friends and family.

Make sure that 2019 is the year that you are kind to those that deserve it, and you don't continue to tolerate toxic people in your life.

Do not forget to take care of yourself, as this is something Cancers tend to forget about or not value as important.

Leo: July 23-August 22

Leo, leo, leo. Your incredible charm has already gotten you so far. It feels like you tend to get everything you put your mind to. You are the star of your social circles and demand the spotlight wherever you go.

Make sure that this year you are competitive in a healthy way. If you lose or don't get something that you want, it isn't the end of the world, because you have so many positive things coming your way; love, money, friends, etc.

Look for somebody loyal that you can trust this year.

Virgo: August 23-September 22

Virgo, you are so smart and resourceful. Your attention to detail can be a huge advantage to you in professional environments, but be careful not to let this get the best of you.

In part due to such intense attention to detail, Virgos worry a lot about things they can't control. This year, try to accept the fact that some things are out of your control.

Libra: September 23-October 22

Charming, charming Libra. You know how to make people feel so comfortable with you. You can see perspectives from both sides and weigh the pros and cons of each before making a definite decision. You can truly make people like you with ease. You will be able to thrive in a relationship by getting exactly who you want.

There is a very fine line between charm and manipulation, Libra. Be careful not to cross the line this year.

Scorpio: October 23-November 21

Mysterious Scorpio. You are so giving and so loving like a Cancer, but more closed off. You don't feel the need to share every second of every day with the world online. Your mystery draws people in and makes them want to know more about you. Go for that person you're interested in, go for that job, everybody wants to know more about you and feels so special when you talk to them.

Don't be afraid to open up and be vulnerable this year. Your thoughts and feelings are valid and will be appreciated by those around you.

Also, get a pet this year if possible. Animals and babies are drawn to your energy and will make you feel appreciated at all times.

Sagittarius: November 22-December 21

Sagittarius, you will do ANYTHING to be independent. Continue 2019 with the openness and fiery passion to achieve big things this year. Don't let anything weigh you down.

With that being said, don't be afraid of commitment in a relationship either! Look for a partner this year that will let you have your freedoms and fan your flame!

Capricorn: December 22-January 19

https://www.pexels.com/photo/man-holding-mug-in-fr...

Stubborn Capricorn. Being stubborn is not a bad thing! You know what you want, you know what is right, and you will not let anything get in the way of that. You will be a valued worker this year because you understand what needs to get done to get the job done.

With that said though, don't be too cold or closed off this year, and let yourself be open to a relationship. Your partner might make mistakes, and nobody is 100% perfect, including you Capricorn, just understand that that is okay.

Aquarius: January 20-February 18

Aquarius! You! Live! Your! Life! Like! This!

Aquarius just wants to be free and independent. Moving quickly and letting themselves create new trends, be insanely open with others, and again independent.

I've noticed many Aquarius give themselves to other people immediately, so make sure 2019 is the year that you pace yourself. Try to give yourself to the people that truly deserve you.

You like to ignore rules to try to find something that works even better, without weighing you down. Keep being you Aquarius.

Pisces: February 19-March 20

Pisces. You are the most willing to be emotional out of all of these signs. Learn to appreciate your sensitivity. Look for somebody in a relationship who also appreciates this sensitivity.

In 2019, try not to take life too seriously, or you will be upset 24/7.

Continue to live your life with an open heart, no matter how much the world steps on it.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

StableDiffusion

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.

1. Finals are weeks away, I’m sure I’ll be ready for them when they come.
